Awesome content! Would love to see how you mix guitar modellers such as the Tonex/Ruby etc..

Thanks so much! And great suggestion! I'll try to make something along those lines soon.

I adore modern and massive, the snare sounds are incredible to my ears been thinking about grabbing the P5 kit. Great video dude!

They were my go-to snares for a while too! Over time my taste just changed a bit. I'm glad you liked the video!

Sorry to criticize, but Spectre is not an EQ, it‘s a saturation plugin. And what I do regularly is, to add a tube pre amp on a send to add overdrive in parallel mode.

Yeah, it is a saturation plugin (which I THINK I said in this video, but I can't remember exactly what I said), but it's not at all like a typical saturation plugin (more like a saturation meets EQ). The way I was using it on this track extremely subtle on the actual saturation being applied, but was adding a little more top end (or bottom or whatever I was doing), so I said you could use an EQ to achieve similar results cause that would get people pretty darn close to what I was going for with whatever plugins they already have, much closer than using Saturn or some other "normal" saturation plugin. I'd be curious to hear more about your parallel send though! I'm always looking for new ways to use Spectre, cause I know it goes a lot deeper than how I typically use it! What frequencies are you pushing on Spectre? And what instruments do you typically find yourself sending to it?

Thanks for this. I produce everything in my small apartment and I feel like there's so little info out there about how to mix sampled instruments.

Are you doing any clipping or limiting on the drum tracks or drum bus to get more loudness or are you doing that in the master buss?

These days (and in this video) I typically only use limiting on the master buss. I used to do clipping on the drum buss, so that can totally work too, I've just been preferring it without lately. I will sometimes use a clipper on the snare to shave off the peaks a bit if I feel like it's hitting the drum buss compressor too hard though.

All you guys need is steven slate in the end 😅

If you mean Steven Slate Drums, his samples just give me flashbacks to early 2000s metalcore 😆 But obviously lots of people make it work for them! So to each their own!
