    I had the same problem with Romantic/Romanticism on Gab, producing Valentine's Day romance Try "golden age", especially in combination with a nation/region (Dutch golden age, French golden age, etc) This gives an early modern to Romantic era look

    Perhaps my approach is incorrect but I have found no significant difference in how you place the order of the artist. IOW, Artist 1, Artist 2, Artist 3, as opposed to Artist 3, Artist 2, Artist 1. It seems that you get a balanced "blending" of the various styles. However I have noticed that using weights (for want of a better word) can influence the look. For example, I wanted to create a still life using a mixture of Paul Gauguin and Vincent van Gogh, but I wanted Paul Gauguin's style to come through more strongly, placing the Paul Gaugin's name first would not make the art look more like his work, but if I added "Paul Gauguin::0.8, Vincent van Gogh::0.2", the art does seem to look more like work of Paul Gauguin, but has some van Gogh characteristics. I'd like your opinion on what you think about this approach.

    Using weights is the perfect way to get what you're looking for! (Especially if you KNOW what you're looking for) But I started working on a new video yesterday, and I swear the order was making a huge difference. Like night and day depending on which artist was mentioned first ... haha I have no idea how scientific it is, but my gut feeling tells me that the order matters.

    Great results! But using an actual living artists name for prompting is the beginning of the end for artists. It's not fair to steal their literal style. Words for a grouping like cubism or surreal is ok as its more broad. But artists spend a lifetime of hard work honing their look, you will threaten their very existence by flooding the world with art that's not theirs. Then they can't make money as easily to fund their learning and practice. It's a slippery slope.

  • @FutureTechPilot

    @FutureTechPilot

    I completely agree! I don't condone anyone trying to make money off of referencing a real artist. But this is an experiment to show what is possible and how powerful this a.i actually is

  • @jixal

    @Sonomacats You shouldn't directly be using other artists work, it's still stealing their identity they've developed.

    Is it me or is Midjourney in the process of losing every single bit of "culture" it had? There is a field of knowledge known as "art history" which helps making sense and appreciating art that was created over the last 10,000 years. What I see in that video seems to be that MJ hasn't the slightest clue as to what 'cubism', 'surrealism' or any of those terms relate to. It's like asking an eight-year-old what 'cubism' means… - "Is it like Minecraft? Like stuff is made from little cubes?" - "Bravo MJ! Almost… 'Cubism' means the exact same thing as 'low-poly', like that puerile frog image… Don't worry, MJ, none of those ignorant FlatMidriff/Giger/Mucha/8K dweebs will know the difference!" PS: I know MJ is not meant to "know" stuff, but of late, it's like it was trained on images tagged by eight-year-olds…

    Very interesting! I personally feel the tech is moving a little fast and that it is losing a bit of knowledge along the way in exchange for other attributes. I guess there are going to be tradeoffs with A.I as it evolves - I'm just here to share the progress with you all. Thanks for your comment and point of view!

    @@FutureTechPilot Would that mean that we should keep on accepting the dumbing-down of AI, for the sake of a few flashy gimmicks? What when "music AI" is asked to compose "soulful pensive jazz from the late 1950's" and it keeps shitting out variations of "Baby Shark" because it's gotten millions of [heart-emoji] with it. Should we go "Well, millions of 6-year-olds can't be wrong, can they? That's what "jazz" is, from now on" To me, that's what those "cubist frogs" were: Baby-shark-cubism… and baby-shark-surrealism, baby-shark romanticism, etc. I mean, come on, doesn't anybody around here know what the word "abstract" means??? It doesn't mean "cheap flea-market-painting colours"… "Abstract'" should basically be a "non-frog" (so to speak). Sorry for going all "dystopian" on you…
