Mixed Woman Takes DNA Test | 23andMe Ancestry + Health Results Reaction (Black & White Mixed)

23andMe Health + Ancestry Results for Black and White Mixed Woman
Hi everybody!! Welcome to my nook of KZread- today I will be sharing my 23andMe Health + Ancestry Test Results, opening them on camera for the first time ever. I am biracial with a Black father and White mother, and never knew where my lineage traced back to in Africa. This ignorance of my past has always tugged at my mind and I always knew I wanted to do an ancestry DNA test one day.
I finally took that step and went through with the test, and I couldn’t be happier that I did! The process of sending in the DNA sample was literally so simple, and I got my results in good time. I also love the vast amount of information that is offered through the app, especially the information teaching about the culture of each ancestral population!
I am so grateful that I got to learn parts of myself that I have never known and I will always treasure this experience. I would highly recommend 23andMe!

    I have been watching videos for months now after finding out I’m only 66% African and 30% European then the rest Native American and Asian. I was definitely surprised to learn that most of us have southern European due to the slave trade and our history. I think I’ve only came across 2 videos where people were 95% and above in African. That information eased my mine because both of my parents are black…so the test had me thinking my daddy wasn’t my daddy for a minute 😂 I had to go educate myself because I was shooketh! Our DNA look a lot alike but flipped on the black and white.

    Lmaoooooo you had me cracking up at “had me thinking my daddy wasn’t my daddy for a minute.” 🤣🤣 I’m sure that was very overwhelming in the moment but sounds hilarious when you look back on it like that. Only 2 videos you found over 95% is so interesting!!! Genetics are so cool lol.

    Your Italian? You are absolutely correct! Nearly all Black Americans have European in them. Yes, even dark skinned Black Americans. In other words, your Italian ancestry can easily come from your father's side of the family, and that extra quantity of European DNA is why the offspring of most interracial couples in America will have slightly more of a percentage of European than Black American DNA. Oprah Winfrey is one of the few Black Americans that lack European DNA; however, she does have I believe 3% Asian DNA & 7% Native American DNA. So, she's still not 100% Black.

    @@jazznurnbergma'am how are you mixed sounds like you are just Hispanic but ppl from USA aren't familiar with latino admixtures. A mixed African American has no Spanish because the Spanish left the colonies and went to South America Central America and maybe some carribean areas like Cuba etc. lots of Latinos have Italian some even Jewish because the Sephardic Jews are Jews that lived I Spain but later hid the Jewish and mixed in with Spanish speaking ppl some Mexicans etc.. you are not mixed. Mixed is Caucasian American and African American. No Spanish unless u had French then that would be Creole. You need take 23 and me they will tell you what your mom is. No such thing as white or black that's American ignorance. The people from India and Middle East even Arabs are Caucasian and not because of skin but they have a gene called caucacus or something like that. North Africa is Caucasian it's the only area of African not considered Negroid. Why do u have ur hair twisted ur not african. It's ur hair welcome to latino culture. And your dad if he has any Spanish he could be Latinos as well. You have 59 percent European. That means u get 50 % dna from each parent so that means your dad should take a test and your mom.. that means your dad has to be at least 50 something else besides african is his parents white or mixed looking not that they are .. if so your mom could be white and him latino or both.. take 23 and me it will say you are say Cuban, you have German, you have Sicilian you are Jamaican etc. where ancestry doesn't do that. Explaining means admixtures make different cultures. Sicilian would be North African and Italian maybe Greek. A Cuban west African and Spain. A Mexican Spain maybe indigenous native from there and maybe a little in USA not many have africa if so it's usually not many they are basically Spanish Indians as we call in usa. In Puerto Rico u would maybe 70 percent Spanish or 60 30 native and rest west Africa u may see some Italian or Jews. Jamaica maybe 70 percent African then they usually have Dutch say 20 percent the other native indigenous or maybe a percentage or 2 of Spanish .

    I'm African American from the US. My DNA of 98% is found in people living today in over seven different West African countries including 3% Luhya which is a Bantu tribe that is now in Kenya. My other 2% is Amazonian Native American from Brazil. The Bantu people have migrated to many parts of Africa. I am looking forward to finding my cousins on the continent of Africa. As more Africans take ancestry DNA tests, they will show as cousin matches for African Americans in the Ancestry DNA database!

    I was very surprised by this as well! My grandmother on my mom’s side is approx half Polish & half Austrian. My grandfather on my mom’s side is approx half German (where my last name comes from) and half Czech. They’ve never done ancestry tests so this is just based on the knowledge that’s been passed down to me. So growing up I always thought I was about 12% of each. However of those four countries 23 & Me only classifies Czech & Polish as “Eastern European,” so I guess I just inherited way more of those genes than the German & Austrian! Germany & Austria are classified in the “Northwestern European,” and my total for all the sub categories within this section is 8.2%- the German only about 2.3% but I’ve literally got a German city as my last name 😂 Aren’t genetics interesting?!

I figured it to be Latino, but seeing that you have such a high percentage of Eastern European, that's what you mostly look like. You are PREDOMINATELY WHITE! @Jiu_zule NEVER 56/44!! Ever since dna results came out over 12 years ago, I have never ever seen or red articles with a 56/44 and even scientists say we get "about" half or exactly 1/2 from each Parent . The 56/44 is too far a deviation from 50/50. 50/50, 49/51 are always the results of 2 pure race individuals!

  • @PleasantGreetings2u

    @PleasantGreetings2u

    8 ай бұрын

    @@Jiu_zule Children have two parents and each child receives 50% of their random DNA from each parent. Each parent can have DNA from the same region which determines the child's percentage. Each child with the same parents will receive different DNA percentages except for identical twins from the same region. For example a child may receive 25% of Mali DNA from her Dad and 12% of Mali DNA from her Mom for a total of 37% Mali DNA. If a child inherits 50% Mali from one parent and 30% Mali from the other parent, she will have 80% Mali DNA but all 80% did not come from one parent.

    It actually shows that she received 9% European from her father not that her father is 9% European.. give or take becaue it's not typically an exact 50/50 from each parent but close enough (like 49/51, 48/52) so for sake of ease let's say she got 50% European from her mom and 9% European from her dad. That would mean that her dad is roughly 18% Eruopean because she would get half of her dad's genes. 9 is half of 18.

    I'm not the poster to the comment, but I think the person is saying that if your dad takes the 23andme test then you would know the y haplogroup report. Which means if he takes it you would know the paternal side haplogroup and how far back it goes. For instance, you would know the haplogroup to your dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, great great grandfather, etc migration and where they first orignated from. You would also know your paternal grandma, great grandmother, great great grandmother, etc and where they orignated from if your dad did the test.
