15:27 Hello Teacher, Here is another question. I have answered ‘If he took care of himself, he wouldn’t have been sick right now.’ Your suggested answer in the video sounds good, and I am wondering if my answer would be also seen as a proper one. Thank you.

I appreciate your challenging/proactive/enthusiastic lesson. I challenged your mini quiz. Mixed Conditional 2 ( condition part = past simple; result part = would have + past participle) 1: If I trusted him I would have hired him for the job . Mixed Conditional 1 ( condition part = past simple; result part = would + present simple) 2: If he took care of himself he would not be sick right now. 1st Conditional ( condition part = present simple; result part = would have + future simple) 3: If I am going on a business trip next week I will not accept a new assignment at work.
I learned the grammar of conditional sentences quite well, but the mixed conditional sentences are a win. Thank you.

I would be living in another country if I had gotten another job as an English teacher
Song by Barenaked Ladies If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars Well, I'd buy you a house I would buy you a house And if I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars I'd buy you furniture for your house Maybe a nice chesterfield or an ottoman And if I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars Well, I'd buy you a K-Car A nice reliant automobile And if I had a million dollars I'd buy your love If I had a million dollars I'd build a tree fort in our yard If I had a million dollars You could help, it wouldn't be that hard If I had a million dollars Maybe we can put like a little tiny fridge in there somewhere You know, we could just go up there and hang Like open the fridge and stuff And there would already be foods laid out for us Like little pre-wrapped sausages and things, mm They have pre-wrapped sausages, but they don't have pre-wrapped bacon Well, can you blame them? Uh, yeah? If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars Well, I'd buy you a fur coat But not a real fur coat, that's cruel And if I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars Well, I'd buy you an exotic pet Yep, like a llama or an emu And if I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars Well, I'd buy you John Merrick's remains Ooh, all them crazy elephant bones And if I had a million dollars I'd buy your love If I had a million dollars We wouldn't have to walk to the store If I had a million dollars Now, we'd take a limousine 'cause it costs more If I had a million dollars We wouldn't have to eat Kraft Dinner But we would eat Kraft Dinner Of course we would, we'd just eat more And buy really expensive ketchups with it That's right, all the fanciest-, Dijon ketchup, mm, mm If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars Well, I'd buy you a green dress But not a real green dress, that's cruel And if I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars Well, I'd buy you some art A Picasso or a Garfunkel If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars Well, I'd buy you a monkey Haven't you always wanted a monkey? If I had a million dollars I'd buy your love If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars I'd be rich Source: Musixmatch

Teacher, Can we make mixed conditional 2 with a verb form also, to talk about a recent action? Like.. 1.If I saw the snake I would have killed it . 2.If I had seen the snake I would have killed it. Aren't these sentences correct? What is the difference between these sentences? When are they used? Would you mind clearing my doubt? Looking forward to hearing your answer . ❤❤❤❤
Could you explain why you had a comma in the first condition even when if was in the second part?

10:36 Hello Teacher, I have a question here. What is the difference between ‘If I had been afraid of snakes, I would not have gone camping.’ and ‘If I were afraid of snakes, I would not have gone camping.’? I think there is no difference between two in meaning because in both cases, the speaker was not afraid of snakes before going camping. Please tell me what you think. Thank you.

Hi there.. I have a question with regard to mixed conditional..In 8:10 says: If I had taken the job,I'd be moving to New York next month. Is that wording in the second part of clause obligatory,or we can say: I'd go to New York next month.
Would you mind reminding me about it..Next

Hi Wes, shouldn't it be 'I would have answered the phone if I HADN'T BEEN in a meeting instead' ? Because I WAS in a meeting.
I am confused with the use of were and was for the first and third person, sometimes is used was and sometimes is used were. Is there any difference? great lesson!

Grammatically, I'd recommend the subjunctive 'If I were...' but in spoken English you will hear either. 👍
If I were going on a business trip next month, I wouldn't have accepted a new assignment at work.
In 12:09, why the verb that was used is 'wasn't' and not weren't ? The subject is 'I' right? So it means the verb has to be plural
@InteractiveEng

Yes, the subjunctive works. In spoken English - and sometimes when written as well - people may not follow this rule. I was trying to mix up the examples. 👍
Would buy a fishing boat if I had enough money.

If I weren’t so busy
Hi my friends. Mixed conditional 2 is confusing to me. How would a British person say it? I would have answered the phone if I *hadn't been* in an important meeting or if I *wasn't* in an important meeting?
On that day if we didn't do that mistake we would go set the world 🌎 on fire.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.
