Impressions/observations during the test drive:
The overall exterior design of the Triton Athlete is sporty with its black details and fenders. The same thing could be said in the interior, with its black and orange color theme. Its interior materials is made out of durable and quality materials. It also has good technology such as a responsive infotainment screen and a good quality 360-degree camera.
The engine of this truck has power upgrades compared to the other variants of the Triton, which is a good feature added by Mitsubishi. The engine makes good power and torque, which makes it nice to drive quickly. The power from the engine is transferred to the wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission, which shifts smoothly in automatic mode and responds quickly enough in manual mode. Its accelerator and brake pedals respond well to driver inputs. Its steering has a very light feel and weight though, which means the truck is very light and easy to drive around. Its chassis provides for a very good ride comfort, as it is very smooth especially for a pickup truck like this. Around corners, there are some body roll which is not too much and is expected from a pickup truck like this, anyway.
