Mitsubishi Pajero Mini TURBO Review! The iPhone Mini of Cars
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The Mitsubishi Pajero is an off-roading legend. It wasn't without its weird quirks however. The Pajero also had a little Kei car brother called the Pajero Mini. After all these years driving cars I have to say as a marketing move by Mitsubishi or any car company it is one of the strangest ideas ever. So what's it like driving the mini version of an off-road legend? Let's go for a drive and find out! Thanks for watching and new uploads every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday!

totally feel the same way. I miss the Mitsubishi of old cuz ultimately the competition between the two pushed subaru to try and give us the best car they could. Who knows whether the new STI is going to be the same.

Fwik its gonna be based on the World chassis as they are going to drop the EJ for the FA24. As a sucker for turbo EJs it is about time to be modern and jump over to direct injecton. The new STIs have a really good chassis but have an old heart and driving one of those shows it.

There was also the Pajero Jr which came with a 1.1 liter naturally aspirated engine making 80hp. Not classified as a kei car due to the engine size and wheel arches.
Reading that thumbnail knowing what Pajero means in spanish makes it really funny 😂😂😂 In latin america they are called Montero for obvious reasons 😅🤣

YAAAAAAAY DAVID WITH PAJEROS! FINALLY !!!
I had one of these when I was a teenager. Fun af!
The full size pajero looks like it could be released today, styling wise. Surprisingly retro-modern, like the new bronco for example
I have driven a few of these boosted up. They go great. Lots of fun.
i love it already!
64 horsepower in 1800 pounds is still pretty good tho. My dads old 97 vw polo weighed about 2000 and had only 60 horsepower and could do 160 kph
I had a brand new 1989 2 door , loved it , I wish i still had it , Montero
Mom had one of these big pajeros, my childhood car. I always wondered what that ball in the dash did haha
This thing is so adorable!! Bring back mini trucks and kei trucks :'C
really love mini

We call ot the Pajero Jr here in our country and I fell in love with it!
If you’re ever in Austin/ San Antonio area, I’ll let you review my 93 Hilux Surf. Great review, saw a Pajero mini here to. The smart car before the smart car.
As a owner of the "fullsize" Pajero V20 i love that even the dashboard is the same design as in my car just scaled down.
This is dope
I miss my pajero 1999 gen 2.5. Awesome truck
There was a version that was between them as well. The IO is between them with a 4g93. You could get all versions with a manual as well. Currently live in Japan with a Pajero IO. Better than what you would expect from Mitsubishi
I have to say the Pajero kei car is pretty neat And really cute!
I love these kei trucks I want to get a tiny truck like this or the Suzuki Samurai and go off-roading
Learnt to drive in one when I was 11 we had the full size 3 door 7 seater the back seats folded down was an open top as well
Ever since playing Gran Turismo 2 I've wanted one of these.
Branco/ Branco 2, mustang/ mustang 2, nova/ nova 2 just off the top of my head.

😍😍 finally
2:40 IS THAT A 4C IN THE BACKGROUND!? Ngl, both pajeros are awesome, but that damn 4c is just chilling around seductively, like, cmon, imagine how much fun it would be to review one David
That big pajero looks exactly like my dads 1987 Mitsubishi Montero 2door. I wish i still had it but it got stolen.... i remember that altitude ball with angle of approach. That thing is hella funny to watch. It has blue for sky on top and black for ground on bottom with an orange bouncy tab in middle for angle front to back and turns side to side for the side to side angle. Lol. It works but u have to crawl to make it read right when off road.
@nochugare

Now that i think about it, it was more of a 3 door cuz the back door is a swinging door not a lift door.
Plenty of those are/were running around here in the Philippines , I got an old one with a 4d56 diesel engine and still runs.
Full review of the big one pls!
Big "don't talk to me or my son ever again" Keanu energy
The mini is so cool, has a turbo and ride height control
I've been trying to get my hands on a pajero mini for ages!!
Nice 👍 both of them
i'm importing a 2008 one in the next few months (to Canada of course) and looking fwd to driving this thing
Yeah we have the XL version here in the Philippines. 4 doors and good for moving stuff.
In Japan they also do this, to an extent, with the Suzuki Jimny. A full version and a stripped down kei version. Kei engine and with no fender flares and without the spare tire compartment at the rear (kei cars must also comply with a maximum size)
The Suzuki Jimny has the same thing with their new one. I saw a lot of kei spec jimnies when I went to Japan
In this time where a decent Jeep , pickup , or SUV costs 50G an affordable basic 4x4 like this would sell like crazy. I think the closest we’ve been to having a large and small version of a car was the Opel GT and corvette. Originally GM did consider selling it along side the corvette as a Chevy.
I just picked up a 1995 Pajero Mini about a month ago, and I love it! Same exterior color combo as the one in the video. That third exterior mirror on the left fender is to assist in parallel parking. It's pointed right down at the curb. I got this one because I wanted a economical car to drive around town. Last year I imported a 1992 Mazda Eunos Cosmo, and I fell for the JDM experience, which is why I got the Pajero for my daily driver. Great little car... and I hope the price keeps going up on them now!

Hey have you done the Subaru svx yet? Because if you haven't that would be a pretty cool one to do.
There were 3 sizes the Mini, which was the kei car, the Junior, which was slightly bigger than the Mini (think of the difference between the Samurai and the Jimny kei version) and the full sized Pajero.
Perfect daily😄
*Don't speak to me or my son ever again*
The pinnacle of Mitsubishi was in the 90s for sure.
These are pretty good off-road vehicles also. Another reason these existed is because you had city dwellers in Japan's that wanted something off road capable for weekend activities and still have something small to park and use in the city.
Mitsubishi didn't stop with the older Pajeros. Later Monteros got the smaller Montero Sport, sold in some markets as Nativas. Same with the Outlander and Outlander Sport, sold in some markets as Outlander ASX.
The best thing about driving a kei car in the u.s.? Everytime you drive it, its just like that episode of seinfeld where Kramer repainted the lane lines to make the lanes bigger.
Fun fact: Back in the day, Mitsubishi made 2500 of Pajero Evolution for the Dakar Rally, which uses a 3.5L V6 with 24 values

Weird to see that someone imported a Pajero 2.8 TD from Japan when they were sold in LHD in Europe...
The ford bronco and the bronco 2 i believe did something similar to this.
Ford Transit & Transit Connect 1 is a F series the other is a Focus but they have the same exterior design
I think the word you were looking for is proportions not dimensions
I can also confirm that the gauges dont work. I got a bunch of stuff to sort out with it. My '91 Pajero gauges dont work, nor the stereo either. A previous owner bought aftermarket digital gauges. Mine has the 2.5 Diesel with a 5spd.
the only other example of this sort of "size options" is like austin in the 1930s, they had the 7, the 12, and the 20.
Interesting the tac doesn't work on my 94 Montero SR :D
I wish they’d bring back the Pajero like they did the bronco!
doesn’t the current bronco have a mini version too
