i still own lancer glxi d since 2001..clocked almost 3.2 lakhs and running in gudalur (nilgiris) , as u said the car might be seems underpowered in this class engine spec but it has very high torque to carry heavy loads uphilling without any strain at all !!! i drive this car as a chariot as we can enjoy its comfortness in low speeds and >100 kmph........thank u nishanth for reviewing this gem!

Hai. . How s braking during downhill driving? I bought lancer 2nd hand two months back. . I was driving downhill from ooty to mettupalaym. Heavy traffic. Lancer moved only inch by inch and I constantly applied brake and clutch. Brakes touched floor all of a sudden and vehicle not stopped braking for a second. I again pumped t brake pad again and again and worked fine. . U experienced like this during downhills driving?

@@bhuvaneshk4365 hi bhuvanesh , i never experienced such things while downhilling, it always had precise precision of braking till date ...in fact i mostly down hill through kalhatty road most of the time with 100 percent confidence in the vehicle...might be u need to check nearby workshop...try Bosch brake pads and check if calibers are working fine
