That’s crazy. My 07 Triton just lost 2nd gear and reverse. And with flashing D. I’ll be doing this wiring inspection first before I pull it out. Thx for the video guys.

Hello . Thank you for this video. I am an owner of a 2012 Mitsubishi L200 with an automatic transmission gear box. And here is the problem . As I am driving at a normal speed of 80 km/hour -55 miles/h , often stepping away from the gas pedal and let the car go due to traffic, then the car breaks suddenly 2 times and moves from the 4th gear to the second gear. After that it is stucked on the second and I cannot accelerate, the D indecator flashes, and the only way out is to pull over and switch off the engine and started again. Do you have an idea what is causing it ? Can anyone help ? Thank you

Hi, did you replace a short section of only one wire or did you find other damaged wires? Is there anything you put in place to stop it happening again? I have the same problem but it’s intermittent and tends to happen over long journeys or when towing. Thanks.

I just replaced the one wire and then added a lot of insulation tape to relieve the stress and vibration and protect the wires

I had this issue - sadly the auto gearbox specialist and Mitsubishi couldn’t find the wiring issue and the gearbox imploded via the torque convertor. £4000 later I had a reconditioned gearbox. 8 months later the symptoms started again - this time the mitsubishi garage was able to identify the problem and I opted for a complete swap out of the wiring loom leading to the gearbox and that fixed it finally. Wouldn’t be surprised if this was the exact issue. When this initially happened all the mitsubishi / autobox specialists didn’t have a clue

HI i have a l200 2006 elegance my auto gearbox shifts gears smoothly on drive but i have noticed when i stop it downshifts to 1st gear very hard i can feel the knock also it sometimes stays in 2nd gear i can feel a slight vibration and when i press the accelerator pedal it disappears. what could it be?

I would check the wiring loom first ... then change the oil... but it sounds electrical issue

@@L663 wiring loom as in the engine ECU loom or the transmission wiring? ive changed oil including oil filter.

Got a 2012 l200. Has a similar problem. When the engine has run for a bit and I drive down hill, I can feel a pull (only way I can describe it) and it jumps into a gear and stays stuck in it. The D on the dash flashes. This clears when I turn off the engine and restart, until I go down hill again. Could this be the same issue?

Hi mate my Triton slips out of D and the little screen in front of me where normally reads my gears goes blank. Could this be the same problem? Engine light also turns on.

Depending which wire breaks the problems can vary... but take a look at the condition of the wires... it will take you 10 minutes

Hi - I guess an oil change would be the best starting point here.... as its OK when warm its not an electrcal problem. The oil is the only think impacted by temperature

Well that's a potential $4,000 saving as many a garage would be dismantling the gearbox quick as.

I need a bit of help my l200 only moves in reverse I have changed the inhibitior switch and that did nothing I also looked at these wires and there fine

Hi please help me I have the same problem. D starts flashing and I'm stuck in 3 gear but I can down shift when I restart the engine it is fine but will do the same after a couple of kilometers

We're the sencor on Mitsubishi triton 2002 in limp mode

snap on you have to switch key off then wait 15 seconds to disconnect

Hi. What is that part of the loom called? I have searched for gearbox loom but it looks completly different. 2 of my wires have burnt out so much i cant cut them any further up as i cant see where the loom goes. So need to replace ect
