    Although I've done this on several cars and know the job inside out, I'll admit that I learned a little through your clear and concise delivery. Good job mate!! Now, I'm looking forward to your VR-4 rear wheel hub and bearing replacement! That one (I have not done yet) has me a little befuddled. Cheers! I think a good suggestion, would be for folks to pick up an 18 or 24 inch torque wrench for axle nut and wheel torquing to spec. They're very cheaply had for many folks, especially those in the US with access to Harbor Freight stores.

    Hi I hope to be covering 4wd hub soon. I am just waiting for a set of bearings. Cheap aftermarket parts are not as easy to get in the UK as they are for you guys in the States and due to the lock down, I can't pop over to pick parts up as easily as I would normally do. You are absolutely right about owning a torque wrench but don't forget that I try to do all of my videos for the man at home who has no more than basic tools and knowledge. There will soon be a set of more advanced level videos which will require the need for more advanced tools. I really appreciate your comments and thanks for watching.

    Such a beautiful car! I have a 1992 blue Mitsubishi 3000GT and a red second GEN DSM Talon TSI but my true love is the 3000GT/GTO/Stealth. Thanks for the help.

    Your car is so beautiful! No rust. We can tell you love your car😁. I never would’ve thought the wheel bearings could go bad. Always very appreciative of your thoroughness! I’ve seen many videos on how to change the wheels or brakes or rotors but they’ve never pointed out the ABS sensor before and they’ve never showed how to clean or sand for maintenance. Thanks for sharing! PS I found the torque setting joke super funny 😂 Gold Wolf from the USA

    Hey I was just wondering if you’d do a video to show how to change the ignition timing. I love your videos by the way! Super easy to follow and you’ve helped me a ton with my car. I drive a 92 3000gt sl and I actually just watched this to replace my wheel hub! Again thank you so much you are great! My name is Andrew Langford and I am a subscribed member 😁

    Thank you sir. It’s the ignition timing. I know there are two things that need to be done to do it. Pull a spark plug and make sure something is dead center. And turning some sort of sensor or something lol. Have a good day man and thank you for the reply!

    The front wheel bearings don’t come as an assembly correct? I’m looking at changing my front bearings and see some companies sell the front as an assembly but I don’t think it’s labeled correctly on the parts site.

    If you have FWD it is separate bearings which will be covered in a video soon. If you have AWD, it is a complete hub assembly as shown in the AWD video.

    Is it not necessary to apply grease between the shaft and the bearing? Nice video 👍

  • @3000GTGTORestoration

    @3000GTGTORestoration

    4 жыл бұрын

    No grease is needed on the shaft because the bearing is bolted directly to the shaft and does not rotate on it like other types of bearing. The bearing on the fwd model is sealed with grease inside. If you put grease on the shaft it will be forced out when you do the hub up and will drip onto the brakes as had happened with the one in the video.

    I worked in the States for a while in the early 90s. I bought the car there and couldn't bear to part with it so I shipped it back to the UK in 1996. As far as I know, it is the only one here.
