You’re a godsend mate, was worried I would either have to lift the motor or take out the radiator

Just did this over the past weekend. On my car (twin turbo) there was a bracket holding the knock sensor connection on the top of the front of the alternator bracket. You can see the empty hole on the black bracket in this video. Just disconnect the wire connector to separate the parts, and remove the single bolt to free this part. Also, if you need a little more clearance to remove the alternator, the A/C condenser fan can be easily removed. The fan is held on to the radiator with only 4 bolts: 2 top and 2 bottom. The 2 bottom bolts need to be loosened from underneath; they don't need to come all the way out. The top 2 bolts are easily removed, then pull the fan straight up and out. Be aware that this exposes the delicate fins on the backside of the radiator. Place some cardboard up next to the radiator to protect the fins while working.

I have an NA and I removed the condenser fan. Only trouble is its still easy to damage the radiator. Hubby stuck a piece of corflute in front of radiator. I'll see how that works

Hey Joe.. I'm making a video about my car as a submission for entry for the contest you're currently doing, and was hoping you could take a look at it. I've found some very alarming rust that's formed from the inside in the trunk, and it looks like I'll have to split the overlapping layers of sheet metal to get at it properly. I've been through a lot with this car and I don't want to give up on her. The are a bunch of other things too, and they would make a pretty comprehensive video series. Not very serious but lots of variety haha Congrats too mate the channel is gaining ground and it's very nice to see. I predict 5k by next year once word really travels (and the KZread algorithm sees the regular uploads you've been doing).
