    The half pipe had nothing to do with it. It was the greatest day of his life because he had been trying the truck for 10 years, didn't even plan to try it that day, and the crowd pushed him to create one of the greatest moments in skating history. He has even said, stop the mega ramp hate. Mega is terrifying. Just because it gives you more does doesn't mean it's cheating. There's so much less room for error

    @Fab Elger but again you are right, probably he landed it many times before whilst training and there and then it wasn't so much a big deal because he knows he can do more and land bigger since he is so far ahead of the curve - although, still, I believe that confidence is a great gift, but humbleness is a bigger one, if it makes sense?

    I'm past 30. Been a blader. Raised by Boarders (some AMAZING LEGENDS actually...) And knew/know... There are no limits. Don't limit yourself. Skating in the Olympics to me is a MORE OUT OF THE WORLD Thought.

    Congratulations Mitchie. Still remember skating with Mitchie as a kid at Skate Barn (RIP) in Renton, WA. Knew he would make it big someday with the amount of talent he had from a young age.

    Not like I told u so,but I have been waiting for that thanks for pulling it...nicely....when I was 11,I was lucky enough to hang with a 42year pro vert skater for about 3 months solid,I went from a good fast rolling skater to pulling front side,backside airs 4ft,to front to back Ollie oop,and I never got a chance to start spinning it amazing where we are now....I still want Hosoi,hah hah hah...

    Considering how clean he made that look, I wouldn't be surprised if a 1440 is possible at some point in our history. Also the shaky first landing might have slowed him down just slightly, might not have mattered but just the fact that he did that so cleanly makes me wonder lol

    Where do I even begin. The crowd. The announcers. This reaction was so underwhelming. This was history, something we may never see again. Compare this to Tony landing the 900 and how people reacted. Man I hate our society lol.

    This is insanely impressive but tony did the 900 on a halfpipe this is the big air. Tony in his prime could have pulled this trick off given the amount of time he had for the 900. This guy is still going down in skating history tho

    he did a stunt on a purpose built built mega ramp... meh. tony landed the first ever 900 at the games after 10 years on a relatable half pipe. being a pioneer and visionary and doing a prepared stunt isn't the same. give a board to a stunt man for a few months and he can do that. it's like breaking the 4 minute mile, it was a big deal, breaking the 4 minute mile by a few more seconds in special shoes 30 years later isn't impressive.

    This trick is easier than a 900 in a half pipe. Not that its easy, but you really just have to spin and pray. You dont need to work to get momentum.

    It still is a huge deal. Doing a spin like that on a half pipe is a lot more difficult than this was. While this is still impressive, it's not as impressive as Tony's 900.

    X-Games died when they started dropping sports for more ad revenue. They literally dropped rollerblading because it was drawing bigger crowds than skateboarding.
