Good video..... here I explain gears to the novice. This guide is for Hybrid, MTB or any bike with 3 gears in the front and 7 or 8 gears in the back. I split the rides in three classes: City Ride, Flat Road and Climbing City Road: You ride within your town. Pleasure ride. Want to buy groceries. Or just plain riding. Flat Road: You see a flat road and you want to ride at the light speed Climbing: You see a slope and want to climb it. Looks fearful and tiring. Let us start with the LEFT SHIFTER (LS) on the left side of your handlebar. City Road: 2nd Gear (Middle Chainring in the front) Flat Road: 3rd Gear (Biggest Chainring in the front) Climbing: 1st gear (Smallest Chainring in the front) Now, RIGHT SHIFTER (RS) on the right side of your handle bar: Gears are 12345678 I am considering 8 gears. Some bikes have 7 gears). Here's the combinations: City Road: 2nd gear on (LS) X 3, 4, 5 gear on RS (Ideal ride) Flat Road: 3rd gear on (LS) X 6, 7, 8 gear on RS (Speed) Climbing: 1st gear on (LS) X 1, 2 gear on RS (Light peddling up the hill) WHEN TO CHANGE: Assuming, you are on City Road gear 2x3 (2nd in front Middle chainring and 3rd gear in the rear). • You leave your apartment with 2x3. • Now you get more space ahead to ride. You change to 2x4 (more speed), then 2x5 (little more speed). • Now you see a straight flat road and want to zip! You change to 2x6 (speed), then changing the Middle ring to the biggest 3x6 (more speed), then 3x7, 3x8 (light speeeeed) • Now the traffic ahead. You slow down from 3x8 to 3x7 to 3x6 and then changing to the Middle Chainring (from 3 to 2) 2x6,2x5, 2x4 and back to 2x3. • Traffic is clear. But you see a terrible slope. Now you go from 2x3 to 1x3, then changing to the smaller chainring (from 2 to 1) 1x2 (light peddling) and 1x1 (lightest peddling) for easy climbing. • Now you see the road going down the slope. You shift 1x1 to 1x2, then 2x2, 2x3, 2x4 and so on. You can even go from 2x4 to 3x4 to 3x5. Pattern of the above ride • 2x3 > 2x4 > 2x5 > 2x6 (Leaving your home and getting little more space on the road) • 3x6 > 3x7 > 3x8 (Flat road.speed) • 3x8 > 3x7 > 3x6 > 2x6 > 2x5 > 2x4 > 2x3 (But seeing the traffic again..slow down) • 1x1 > 1x2 > 2x2 > 2x4 (2x4, 3x4 > 3x5) (Riding downhill the slope) These are the basic combinations for three types of rides. For off riding, uphill and downhill mostly 2nd and 1st gear on the LEFT SHIFTER (2nd and 1st chainring in the front) with 4,3,2,1 gear on the RIGHT SHIFTER) are used. You can choose any combinations as per your choice but make sure the chain does not get cross. How does the chain get crossed? Keep 1st gear on the LEFT SHIFTER and 8th gear on the RIGHT SHIFTER or Vice-Versa. This wears down the chain faster. It may be confusing in the beginning but as you go on riding every day exploring new terrain you will eventually master it. Hope it explains everything.

Case 1: Scratch is light (upto paint layer and Not on metal body): Without damaging paint is difficult. Try using scratch removal lacquer. Otherwise, traditional process is to use sandpaper to level out the scratch and then repaint. Case 2: Scratch is deep and metal body is affected: You might need a grinder to level out the scratch depending on level of depth. Not an easy task to DIY as rework on frame impacts it strength bearing capability. Better to see a professional.

Don't do 1X7...it makes the chain wear out and slowly n slowly becomes weak and will break one day....don't cross the chain...try to keep it straight you should use the following combination 1--- 1X1 or 1X2 or 1X3 2--- 2X4 or 2X5 or in rare cases 2X6 3--- 3X6 or 3X7 No other combination should be used for long(you can use other but fooor very short time and not frequently)but it's better you use the above mentioned criteria....it will be better for your cycle

Only think about maintaining your RPM. I like to ride at 90rpm which means 90 complete pedal strokes in 1 minute. That is the best efficiency. Agar 90 se kam hojaye rpm to gear reduce karo and zaada hojaye to gear high karlo. Downhill pe dheere dheere gear increase karo. But only go fast if your brakes can stop you. Safety first
