Andy, I love the channel and watch every episode. DO NOTlisten to the people complaining about what YOU do to YOUR car. I would have cut the pedal too and I lean on the fenders of my mustang too. It's your car do what you want and certainly don't let a bunch of keyboard warriors tell you what you should or shouldn't do. Just keep working on your car and putting out great content.

I would definitely suggest getting the right pedal. The spacing between the two pedals is perfect. Cutting the pedal makes it still very close to the clutch. The manual transmission brake pedal is made different. Other than that, you do you.

No problem! Part of my videos are to show how a single person can do pretty much all the work we'd ever do to these cars. While I have gathered some specialized tools over the years, I like the satisfaction of being able to do the work my self and gaining knowledge along the way. I hope that others are able to pull something from my videos to help them along their journey. Keep at it, you've got this! :)

My first car was a 66 mustang. I didn’t know anything about working on cars, so usually broke two or three things trying to fix one broken thing on the car. I eventually learned by reading books and finding people that knew about cars. I learned a lot about Mustangs and ford engines. Fun car! I still love the sound of a Mustang V8!!

Hats off andy, owning your mistakes! I cant remember most of my mistakes, thankfully i realized most of them in the garage and ended up drinking a beer or six just stewing in my mistakes and misfortune and cant recall a lot of them. So far the worst ive made is my ignition coil failed me, and was stuck at a light when it died on me. I had to push solo backwards to the roads shoulder, jumped in to stop, kicked for the brake pedal and broke off my park brake release on my 69. Or after measuring 3 times, still screwed up drilling the hole in my firewall for my clutch cable. Also couldnt gwt the old clutch pedal linkage off and had to resort to a sawzall to cut the bracket while up under the dash, ended up also damaging my wiring(hanging down from last owners rat nest) Got the clutch cable dialed in great now, and redid ALL the wiring. Just senseless mistakes. Keep up the great work!

I love watching your channel and some of your mistakes have helped me prevent some of my own! (I had no idea about the drum lip, but your video helped make sure that I checked it the next time I replaced a tire). I have made mistakes too; -Half of the alternator mounting bolt is broken off in my block, because I reused the original bolt and forced it through where it may have cross-threaded. -I burned out the starter, twice, before I figured out what heat sink was. -the shoulder of the dipstick tube broke off, which allowed the engine to spray oil all over the engine bay. Your videos do make a difference though, since each one of the repairs was easy enough for me to do after watching one of your videos.

It’s a fastback and it will always retain its value from what I’ve seen unless you really go overboard but all the mods you’ve done you should be proud. I think they all added value. Nothing wrong with trimming down the brake pedal. Doing things yourself is how you become familiar and learn about your car. I work on cars for a living and don't look for other peoples opinion because it seems that everyone has one. Just keep things on the traditional side with mild mods and you will be good. What makes the car hobby fun is that everyone has a little different idea of what cool is, and that's what keeps it interesting. You have an enthusiastic attitude and also a passion for these cars and just keep doing what you are doing and thanks for sharing..:)

Don't "cheap out" on headers. Ford Powertrain Headers, JBA, Doug Thorley etc. Get stainless steel and coated as well. Invest in some ARP stainless 12-point header bolts and Fel-Pro gaskets. I use a dab of Permatex thread sealant, not lock tight, on my header bolts. They stay in and don't back out until you disassemble them. I have owned my 65 Fastback Mustang since 1988. It has a 351w, the JBA headers were well worth the $$$. "I have been there and done that" many times with my car. It can be an expensive hobby, especially just starting out. I still have my father's original #s matching, 67 Shelby GT 500. Original California car with the black and yellow plates. He bought it in 1985. RIP Dad!! Lots of great memories then and now!

Me Too, I just walk up to Betsy and start wrenching. Now that she's painted I should not be doing that.

Overpaid??? Maybe......Good news is these cars are NOT going down in price. If you really want to feel bad I paid $600 for my 66 Mustang 2+2 4 speed car in 1975.....that was about the bottom of the market. Everything else comes in under learning!!!! Thanks

It's crazy how much people are willing to pay and also inflation has affected the price of these cars. :)

Yeah, I figured there'd be a few that would be interested. If I sell them, it will be to a local buyer, I have no interest in trying to package them up and ship them. :)

@@AndyKruseChannel i understand. Can you at least tell me what size they are and where you bought them? No issues with rubbing on the fenders?

@@andreasmorken241 Wheels are 16x7, with 4" backspacing, part number VN2156765. Tires are Falken Azenis, 225/60/16, all 4. I purchased the wheels on eBay and I purchased the tires on TireRack.com. I rolled the front fenders before I put the tires on, so I don't know if they would have rubbed. I modified the rear quarter panel lips a little because the tires were rubbing, but that was all fixed when I installed the Panhard Bar. With that Bar the tires would never rub. :)

You think you can find that car for $20k in the condition it was in? idk, you get what you pay for and these are HIGHLY sought after cars! You can't even buy a new Hyundai for that price. I wouldn't loose sleep over what you paid. I know the car has some issues but you're fixing them slowly one at a time and let's face it, it's a 58 year old car, all of them are going to have some issues! I think you might have overpaid a little bit but I don't think you can find a running driving example on that kind of condition for $20k then again I haven't looked over the car personally so there might be more things wrong with it that meets the eyes
