Mistakes Are Lessons
Спорт
One of the biggest challenges in this sport is the mental aspect.
It has been one of the biggest changes in my game.
I want to start off with saying I’m a pretty positive person but am extremely honest with myself and would let mistakes bother me when I first started.
So for me I had to change the way I approached my mistakes.
My mistakes turned from man I suck into ok how did I do that and let’s fix it.
The never ending goal of improvement has kept my fire for this sport alive and actually made it burn even hotter.
Your mistakes are just lessons on what to pay more attention too.

See you there.
Great video Tom. I’m a Steel Challenge shooter and find your videos full of golden nuggets! Shot a match this weekend and won my class and category but kept thinking about the stage that got away. Shooting is a lot more mental than people realize. Your intro statements about skill and the mental game are spot on! Thanks for sharing and keep the great videos coming. Best to you in Nationals!
You know space city is the biggest match of the year! Geez!!
Flyers are a thing too. I try not to let things like deltas or mikes get to me. It isn't always easy lol but after if I feel it was me I will go to the safe area and clear my head do a few dry fires and get my head back in the game. Every stage is a fresh start now burn it down and forget the last stage lol
This year I decided to not get frustrated when I screwup but just record it and work on the correction, specifically if it’s a pattern. It’s a timely attitude adjustment as I build up to my first invite to Canadian IPSC Nat’s . Agree that part of stage planning is clocking the particular elements of the stage that are hazards based on any history of typical errors.
I got a bunch of lessons at the indoor match last year... Still licking my wounds. ☹
