Some of my favorite songs came from watching Smallville. We didn't have apps to check what song was playing back then, at least for probably the first half of the series. We just had to look on Google to see what the soundtrack was and hope it wasn't one of those songs where the title is *not* the chorus, as sometimes happens. 😀

The girl who I parted ways with sent me this song as a way of conveying how she felt. I have consequently returned to it every time I've needed reminding of that spritely, generous, irreplaceable beauty that once dared to stand beside me. I pray to god that this song always hurts.

I can't relate to this song on a personal level, but it's still so touching. I think it's about losing yourself in a relationship. Where you look in the mirror and don't know who you are anymore. And you know in your heart that the best thing to do is leave, but you are still in love with the other person, and know that it will be painful leaving. However f you don't leave, you may never find yourself again.

Missy Higgins -- every single song she releases, you find absolute gold. Even the far less regarded B-sides are just brilliant. I think, my love of Missy, could never ever be put into words -- just that I can still hear 'Scar' at any time, and still be as in awe as I was when I first heard it a decade a ago.

One tree hill and a pure appreciation of Miss Higgins keeps bringing me back here.

This song totally sums up how I'm feeling right now. Love Missy Higgins! All of her songs have so much much honesty in them.

This song hits home hard, and means so much to me. When I left him I felt so much guilt, unhappiness and loneliness that I would argue with myself to go back to him. I had been planning to break up with him for months and was tying up all the loose ends to do so.. Convincing him to have us move in with my parents "temporarily" so we could end our lease early, persuading him to sell our car so there would be no fighting with who gets what.. I started becoming less and less emotionally available and would bring up things I knew made him upset. Bringing up fights over little nothings so that maybe he would want the end just as much as me.. The guilt almost broke me to just settle. He was a great guy, but I wasn't happy. This song really helped me stay on track and reminded me why I was doing what I was doing, and that it was for the best. I'm so glad I went through with it, cause I haven't been happier.

This song is so mature......It is a love song.....about knowing what is good for yourself and the person you love......and when the love is there....no denying it is there, but you have to leave....It isn't about being self-centered....I think she wants to stay, but she can't.....and it just hurts.....she leaves for her partner and herself. Still, I can't help but regret how I broke things off. I loved her so much, and it was hard to see the person I love the most change into someone else entirely over the span of a few years. And see her and I find new best friends...it's just not the same. Hearing this song brought back so many of those bittersweet memories, knowing how much I hurt her and how much she hurt me and how even now I would want to help her if she ever needed it. But at the same time this song is incredible because it was able to bring back all of those long past memories in less than 5 minutes...bravo missy.
