Holy crap. To hear him tell the story of his first guitar. What a soft-spoken gentleman.

He sure was. Just a nice humble man, besides being so talented. He's a favorite of mines. Love to hear him sing and play.

I’m genuinely sad every time I think of him really. I wish I could tell him how he and his music changed my life.

Such a lovely, softspoken man. Apart from his incredible music, I could also sit around and hear him tell stories all day. I really love the fact that his music was so much a reflection of the life he lived. Not a hard-travelling bluesman like others, he was a total homebody who just liked to live a quiet life-he said he really didn't like to leave home. I find it impossible not to smile whenever I listen to his music. RIP John, the world is a better place for having you in it.

Possibly the most beautiful soul who ever lived. So much so, that you would never mind that he started the story 20 years early with a different story, never told the actual story, or played the promised song. 😂
