Dang it, my eyeballs sprung a leak. Frank Fontaine was just so smooth, like fine brandy. This song hit me right square in the heart. With the exception of my younger brother, all of the old gang are gone. My neighborhood where we grew up is gone, too. Yes, I know things change; sometimes for the far better, sometimes for the far worse, but this one hits home. For those of you like me, remember where you came from and enjoy the memories. For you younger people, make good memories now and treasure those you love because someday, when you least expect it, you're going to be the old timer remembering your youth and the good times you had but most important, those who are no longer around.

The design of the Camaro looks so beautiful and the fact that it became the official Indy 500 Pace Car for 1969 makes it more special than it already is.

I was 11 years old when this first aired. I found all the bartender skits with "Crazy Guggenheim" not only hilarious, but cozy as well. Frank Fontaine had a mellow baritone. I remember running home from sandlot baseball or other games with my friends to watch The Jackie Gleason Show. I sure do miss TV programs like this!

If 20,000 Leagues were made today, Capt. Nemo would be portrayed by Disney as a wild-eyed transvestite driving a pink submarine. There would be no Mrs. Nemo - unless his name was “Bob”. I miss the entertainment of the old days, where Wokeness not only didn’t exist - but any inkling of it would be mocked and criticized.

I consider myself truly, truly blessed to have grown up in this era, when shows could be watched by everyone. It was...gasp...entertaining! A distraction from the work week. Parents didn't have to worry about what their kids were seeing because more than likely they were watching it, too. On a side note, there was a cartoon character called Pete Puma, who talked just like Guggenheim. My favorite ones were him trying to outsmart Bugs, and of course failing miserably. I could even do an impression of Pete and Guggenheim, but I could never sing like him, and I'm a pretty good singer if I say so myself. No, just like the Greatest Generation, we will never, ever see entertainment like this ever again. What a tragic pity.

Half the comments are "he's gay" and "he wasn't real"...looks to me like when kids can go to school and have a place to nurture their creativity they don't have to be so rough and dropping out means a lot of the time ya gotta learn to be.

I remember these types of comedians in the late 50s and early 60s, that had an act of playing drunks. So patently stupid and appealed to an equally stupid public. This guy, Foster Brooks, and there were many more that were popular-FFS. Thank god our nation has grown to be so much more enlightened!
