i think it's a lot more effective that they just showed a black screen when describing the burning port. That and the narrator breaking down makes your mind wander and think it must have been particularly horrifying

It was Chopper. He was the only one of the squadron to deliver the hamfisted message with any semblance of quality. Everyone else just preaches like a protestant on Easter sunday.

I will always love the intro cutscene of AWACS and Nagase bickering just for Snow to tear past us on full afterburner, so cool.
