I imagine in the Pokémon universe, Missingno is a straight up cryptid

Love that!

You know based on how the programming works for the glitch, some poor kid might’ve never been able to glitch missingno. in their playthrough because of how they put in their name... The odds were great, but how many kids growing up knew the glitch was based on the name?

No because when the old man capture happens the game rewrites your name as old man that's why when you surf near the cinnabar island tiles you encounter a lot of weird pokemons including missigno

It really deseves its own movie

Capsule Crew TV Okay i have 3 diffrent versions for how missingno could be portrayed in a movie 1. This is the wildest one with huge implecations i could think of, Missingno whos real name is unknown even to it.was the first pokemon Acrcus created but was erased fron existence because Arcuecs was unhappy with how Missingno turned out, missingno would be depticed as hellbent on Arcues destruction. 2. Missingno is from the future, in this version Missingno comes from the future where a SECOND war has devastrd the worled. Where as Missingno would put it "The sun is gone, the oceans swallow the land, and disease infects any who remain." Missingno in this version would seek to prevent this from ever happing by spliting the Human and Pokemon worlds, this would create the world we live in now for humans while the pokemon world would bassically turn into Mystery Dungeaon. 3. In this version Missingno seeks to erase the world for unknown reasons mainly becsuse this version of Missingno never speaks, Missingno would just make noises such as breathing or the as i will call it "Static Roar". Missingnos body would actually crack and reaveal its ture form.which would be a pokemon that has never been seen that although appearing dead But would actually still show signs of life. What do you or anyone else think?

@@dylantrobaugh2580 Cool ideas but I think Missingno should be in the movie what it is in the game...a glitch. I may be and probably am wrong but whatever: Pokeballs contrary to popular belief do NOT store Pokemon. They don't shrink the Pokemon. They don't convert the Pokemon to energy. Instead what a Pokeball does is it cuts space/time and Pokemon are then teleported to a pocket dimension where they exist in suspended animation. Each pokeball has it's own pocket dimension. When you transfer a Pokemon they are taken from the pocket dimension of one pokeball to another. So while you may be wondering what does this have to do with a movie about Missingno? The Pocket Dimensions were not created but discovered. Pokemon were not always widespread but were rare sightings. Pokemon had the ability to freely travel across dimensions. Since the Pokemon scared people and because they disappeared into pockets of space they were given the name "Pocket Monsters" or "Pokemon". Later it was discovered that these pocket dimensions can be calculated and manipulated to "catch" and "release" Pokemon. However since Pokemon originally can travel between dimensions they can travel to other pocket dimensions When a Pokemon dies they exist in another dimension outside of space/time. When Pokemon attempt to contact the living world they become ghosts. When dead pokemon contact the pocket dimension world they become glitches. Hence Missingno.

Yeah it would be a great movie or bonus episode after ash got to be the Pokémon master

Is it Gorachu? When you trade a Raichu to somebody in the game they would say it evolved. Or a pre-evolution of kangaskhan?

I don't know if it's true, but I read somewhere that every form of Missingno. was in the beginning a beta Pokémon that has been cut out from development, but that the code wasn't completely deleted, as well as an oversight on the debug tools still left in the code. But since the memory space was scarce, every form of Missingno. took the entry #000. Considering that if it wasn't a memory space issue on the Gen I games there would have been 256 Pokémon, that theory would make sense. But on that regard, I never really used a disassembler to look in the code by myself to confirm that theory. I guess only GameFreaks really knows about what Missingno.'s really are, outside of becoming so iconic.

You did forget to mention that it can appear in trading witch I noticed was easier to do and sooner then cenibar Island

Well The music is creepy

Problem is is that that still doesn't explain one thing to me. How did we figure out how this glitch even works? That's the thing I have been dying to know. Nobody has once said this is how it came to be This is where it came from. All we know is that in order to bring it up at all we have to do a couple of things that causes a glitch.

Mine evolved into a kangaskan

I got clichy ultraballs they are invinity and i got level 160 squirtle but i took charmander at the start its weird and now its level 100 and i got level 172 magnemite and its now level 100 magneton

I hacked my game boy color and then I had missingno and defeated every Pokémon in the game.
