That’s not generally true tho and there is a good reason why the right to remain silent exists without the possibility to be legally interpreted as a sign of guilt. @@BellaBlayne I‘m not talking about this case (which my comment makes clear I think). All I‘m saying is that GENERALLY SPEAKING the right to remain silent is very important and invoking it isn’t necessarily a sign of guilt. That doesn’t mean that everybody who pleads the 5th is innocent either. I‘m just saying there is a good reason why it’s not legal to interpret silence as guilt/ having something to hide. The only times I can think of that you can/ should talk to police without an attorney is in an emergency or if you have specific information to give regarding a case that you want to report. As soon as police starts asking questions about you tho, it’s advised to say nothing until you‘ve gotten legal counsel. It’s sad but unfortunately we can’t trust police not to frame people.

The fact that she was massively depressed makes it LESS likely that she would have been able to pull off this kind of disappearing act and maintain it for so long, or to commit suicide in a way that hid her body from ever being found. Real bad vibes are coming off the husband and his daughter.

And can we talk about how she left without her car, her clothes, her toothbrush? And her phone!? None of it makes sense at all. Her parents had the house built for her. She'd never want to leave it behind. If she wanted a new start somewhere else, she would have divorced him and sold the house, taken her jewelry from her parents, her phone, photos, and her dogs. She would have said goodbye to her friends, and contacted her relatives to tell them what was going on, and that she was divorcing her money draining husband. His business ate up so much of her money. They could have had an argument about it, and he could have killed her. Or, maybe she found out that he was cheating on her. Who knows? Ah yes.. they have marital issues, so she leaves the house her parents built for her instead of kicking him out. Makes sense. Leaves all her clothes, and her dogs behind. His daughter absolutely helped in some way, shape, or form. I wonder if luminol would work after almost 14 years. They certainly had time to clean it up and dispose of her body. I'm willing to bet that she's in the city dump, and it makes me so sad because if that's true.. she'll never be laid to rest.

I have bipolar disorder and right now I'm going through one of many major depressive episodes. The one thing bringing me comfort? My dogs. They are cuddled up with me while I watch this. *I would never leave my dogs behind* if I were leaving my home for some reason. Not unless I planned to die, and then I would have to know they were going to be taken care of. I have two dachshunds. I have other animals too, but it just really hit me when they said Marsha had a dachshund. They are incredibly sweet dogs. As an introvert and something of a loner who also provided care for my mother before she did, there was a lot about this case that just struck close to home. Check up on your friends and family who have some kind of depression or are introverts. We may be resistant to spending a lot of time socializing but we still need to know we are valued. This case is heartbreaking, but the DA didn't have a case. I hope they find Marsha.

Now, any time I feel down, he is my reason to get out of bed and keep going. I would never, ever leave him. And I don't think someone who was so dedicated to animal welfare - such that she volunteered to care for shelter dogs - would ever leave their animals behind.
