By calm down I meant able to slow down and let herself process. It would be super hard to do in that circumstance. I have been through traumas myself and when you are in a state of shock it is almost impossible to think straight. Sorry it took me so long to reply. This story is so sad and am sad for everyone and hope the family and friend circle she had can comfort each other.

That just might be the last words they will ever hear from you. Did you know that over a 11 year period of fighting in Vietnam, America lost about 57k American GI's. But in just 2 years 1968 & ''69 here in America, there was over 102k men, women and children killed in just motor vehicle accidents and doesn't include millions of injuries, and many life altering injuries are from that old bucket of bolts..the automobile.

@@fastdude2002 Children need to see the written word at home as well as at school. Are there any age appropriate books in the home? Does the child have books read to them often? As the adult reads the child can see the words on the page to become familiar with spelling. Does the child see others reading for pleasure? It’s a moot point now but both of my parents read the newspaper every day. We had books and newspapers available and both parents read for pleasure. It’s not just the school’s responsibility to teach reading and spelling. 😊

Actually, she likely has notes on her phone. In days gone by, a reporter would have some papers in their hands. Most reporting is scripted, usually by the reporter themselves, and then used to not leave out information. I would say the young lady is doing a fine job. She didn't hurry, spoke clearly and to the point, and was relaxed in her delivery. I do agree that phones consume too much of our attention. But in the end, it's just another tool, like a clipboard or Spock's tricorder.
