The word Universe may sound bigger because of its meaning but just competing with 90 to 95 'countries' and high production won't make it the biggest. In other words Miss Universe doesn't have any existence.

I'm originally from Venezuela and I have to say that Catriona gave the best answer by far and outshined them all. Kenya was second best. Philippines was also more beautiful and should have won. But Julia Morley must have her reasons.

The burning torch is an analogy for showing good example all the time and a means to give light to the darkness. Wow how meaningful is her answer! she should be the 1st runner up perhaps if she really failed to take the miss world crown. Anyway, she did not win because she is meant to be the miss universe.

Catriona Gray's answer during Miss World 2016 was beautiful, amazing. Those words "Bravery....it will be my greatest honor & duty to hold the torch high enough so the world can feel and see its light." Wow..... Then why she lost Miss World? For me, there are few reasons: (1) Catriona Gray was bound to a bigger, better, and more prestigious title... that's Miss Universe 2018; (2) Miss World Organization felt the title is not for her, its for Stephanie (although, I was rooting for Miss Kenya to win the crown, better answer compared to Stephanie, for me eh.). (3) Because there was no English translators... for the judges, specifically for the National Directors.

Miss Kenya should try out for Miss Universe. She would do really well and she answered just as good as Catriona.

Hearing this answer and in miss universe they were pretty much the same..the bottomline here is her passion,kindness and willingness to offer herself to help others to

But I also argue that it's better to finish outside the top three than inside because if you finished as first or second runner-up, you have to be on standby often. That's what happened in Miss World 1973 when USA's Marjorie Wallace was dethroned/resigned due to violations of her Miss World contract when she had affairs with Sir Tom Jones. MW officials offered first runner-up Philippines' Evangeline Pascual to fulfill the duties that were to be carried out by the winner for the rest of the reign, but without the title and the crown. Pascual refused and second runner-up Jamaica's Patsy Yuen completed the reign. Catriona Gray followed a similar path with Namibia's Michelle McLean: from a top five finisher in a Miss World edition on U.S. soil which was won by a Latina to Miss Universe winner in Bangkok, Thailand.

Catriona first caught my attn with her eloquence and humility. Sadly she didn't win and went on to evolve to be more conceited, affected and self absorbed, as she trained for miss universe 2018. Ironically, she won.

Simple speaking out hearts is what needed not a very precise rehearsed answer! PR answer never looked like rehearsed ! May be cat improved after this and became stronger ever.but here PR is the Queen!

I appreciate Ms.Kenya’s answer...empowering children and the parents of the children to start education as early as they could (since learning starts at home) is one good way to improve the education system in the world...somehow, Ms Puerto Rico and Ms Philippines have also given wonderful answers...😊
