OMG. When Catriona won as Miss Universe 2018, I just realized that she was the same person who represented Philippines in this pageant. I was shocked for real, I’ve seen Miss World aired in the television that time and I really loved her answer! I love the symbol given and saw passion in her eyes. I couldn’t move on and thought she does deserve to win the crown. But no, Miss Universe is what’s meant for her. I thought moving on to her defeat here was hard, but accepting the fact that she’s no longer the Miss Universe is harder! I love this girl so much. ❤️ She loves playing with fire 😉

Actually, Dayanara Torres competed in Miss International 1992 and finished in the Top 10 before winning Miss Universe 1993. Namibia's Michelle McLean had a similar story like Catriona Gray.

She doesn't deserve the world. She deserves the Universe. :)

I don’t know why she was made to look like Megan Young during her winning streak ... from the gown color to the top bun. She should have been styled differently.

@@RayOgalinola Aces and Queens never repeats styling for their queens, from Venus Raj in MU 2010 to Michelle Dee in MW 2019, every styling is unique. Cat's case was unprecedented. Rumors has it that Jonas prepared an aqua-colored gown for her but she insisted on the pink one. She only proved all speculations of her being a control freak by going independent. Not saying that it didn't serve her well because she earned the MU crown and she very much deserves it. Just saying that she learned her lesson well and that's a good thing.

Catriona in miss world & catriona in miss universe is like 2 different person .....and that different make her miss universe & perhaps best miss universe ever .......

It is not only that she didn't win. She wasn't even placed 2nd or 3rd. Miss World is not only about a final night. I guess during those days of competition the jury/ Julia usw saw something else in the other girls that they liked better

Also, Catriona would've take over somebody's reign without the title nor crown as one of the two runner-ups. Don't you want Catriona to do that at the time? As Carrie Bradshaw once said, "Abso-(bleeping)-lutely not!" That's what happened in Miss World 1973 when American Marjorie Wallace was dethroned/resigned for violating her Miss World contract. Eric Morley, Julia's late husband, and the Miss World brass wanted the Philippines and MW 1973 first runner-up Evangeline Pascual to take over, but she declined because she was doing a movie at the time. It wasn't until Jamaica's and MW 1973 second runner-up Patsy Yuen accepted the offer to take over Wallace's reign.

Sad how the World never saw her but happy that UNIVERSE noticed her

Somehow the crowned queen doesn't seem to have that vibe. When winners are crowned they ultimately radiate that queenly beauty and glow. Something doesn't feel right

Filipinos really Love the Miss World Pageant. We always used to support our candidates whom to represent the Philippines in this competition. And way back on 2016, we the Filipinos, we already predicted and know that Catriona will be the 2nd Filipina who will crowned as Miss World 2016 and her performance can attest to that claim. But, we were shocked when Julia Morley announced that the winner is " Puerto Rico? that is the time that we feel dissapointed with this pageant, since we felt that the crown was got robbed to us. And now, to all the people out there? Do you know what happen after Catriona lose in this pageant? Filipinos already decided not to support this pageant anymore and the worst thing is that, foreign countries known as very supportive to our representatives. But because of what happened to Catriona, the representative that we send to Miss World did not gained the 100% support that she want coming from his/her fellow countryman coz the Filipinos cannot get over of what happened way back on 2016. The enthusiastic energy of filipino fans to support this organization and even our representative are already faded. and guess what? Catriona won as the new miss Universe 2018.

I was very upset too But miss world is a more comprehensive and more difficult pageant. Its not just swimwear, evening gown and interview, they also assess talent, personality, background, charity, sports, multimedia, modeling ability and good heart. That's why Catriona and Andrea Meza can't even win there. Besides miss world is also very political. There are times only one delegate per continent can enter the top 5. There are times you cant win because your country just won. Megan just won in 2013 so thats one reason they won't let Philippines win miss world again these coming years

She looks less confident here.... Maybe this became the reason for growth in her character. Maybe she looked back and was like...
