Gotta agree with Emily and Bodlarka here. Unless she's Aboriginal, it wouldn't be very appropriate for her to be dressing in Aboriginal clothing and doing an Aboriginal dance. Still not a big fan of her dress though, she could have at least worn a dress inspired by Australia's lovely beaches or outback or something. That just looked tacky.

For people saying that Miss Philippines' dance was boring, it's not boring. The music that she danced to was serious and ominous sounding. That was the most basic dance for a miss that I have never seen, she could do something better with the skirt and some more attractive dance moves. I know it wasn’t her fault but she could say something about it, or maybe she can’t dance in which case I would say that is absolutely ridiculous that being how we Dominicans are they send a person that can’t dance to represent us. Anyways she could do better

What's funny is that Malaysia and Indonesia was colonized too. I think religion have parts in culture since Protestants of Britain and Netherlands are reluctant to spread their faith the way the Zeal Catholics do because they don't want to disrupt trade over faith. Catholics force people to study their language to adopt their religion, Protestant spend times translating the Bible to local language before preaching it. Or it could be that British and Dutch have Company while Philliphines were direct Crown Colony.
