unfortunately when Miss Georgia who was leading the competition gave that horrid answer, the winner of Miss USA was up for grabs....I was very surprised Shannon won, but at Miss Universe, Shannon looked a HOT MESS!!!!

This was my very first pageant I took the time to see on television; therefore, Shannon will forever be engraved as my first USA most beautiful Miss USA 1992. Love you Shannon. She was funny, witty and beautifully spoken at the 1992 Miss USA pageant.

California shouldn't have won...but , who cares? no matter how undeserving a Miss USA titleholder can be, she has a 95 % probability of making it into the top at MU as in happened in 92 and 91

Shannon Marketic was one of the most beautiful Miss USA'S. Her current problems today, does not erase that she was Miss USA 1992, and a good one. My prayers go out to her, that she recaptivates the class that I know is still within her. She was much deserving of the title back in '92. She will always be one of my favorites.

To this date I haven´t been able to figure how in the world did Kelli McCarty win that pageant???

It was also my very first pageant I had seen when I was only fifteen. Once I remembered that Shannon came to my country, Thailand, following her duties in MU1992. She wore a nice black dress. She didn't win because she may not be as pretty as the other contestants but she was my favorite at that time!

Great choice! She was very poised and elegant! A true Queen and the dress was amazing!
