Dear PageantsHayDay, you have no idea how grateful I am for this, I remember watching this years ago but I didn't finish because of a power cut. I always wondered how the talent competition went, and if the swimsuit segment was removed. Now I know. Thank you so much!

Hi Chris, thank you for agreeing. The two formers next to Leanza are Barbara Jo Walker (1947) in red and next to her is Patricia Donnelly (1939) in black. All three sadly have passed and Leanza was on my top 20 all-time talent list! I was a volunteer on the state level in Rhode Island many years ago and no, no direct contact to Ms. Krebs.

...Thanks Bill for your reply. Posting this response on October 10, 2021 so hopefully you will read this soon. You did not answer---if you knew why they never introduced the former Miss America winners during the reunion of past winners on the 1995 Miss America telecast the year LaCricia Shawntel Smith of Oklahoma won the crown. Instead, it was just the song by Johnny Mathis and the women walking the stage and runway. Thanks for your answer about Barbara and Patricia (two winners I rarely ever seen at past Miss America telecasts). However, at least they did include the formers with tiny commercial introductions and the top ten talent presentations. By the way, did you work with then-Miss Rhode Island board member, Robert-NardolilloJr, who died in July 2021? When and what roles did you work with the Miss Rhode Island program? Are you on Facebook or have email for private messages?

@@chrisfan8705 got your reply. You are correct about them showing a formers here and there before commercials but I think the formers deserved better. I was not a board member and worked as stage hand in the 60’s when Louanne Gamba was Miss RI’s chaperone (traveling companion now). She grabbed me from our local theatre group where she was musical director. Nice lady and glad MAO honored her upon her passing. I’d actually have to watch this show again to see if they included ALL formers before commercials or introducing talents of the top 10. They could not have included all I don’t believe. I hope they do better in December. I am a die hard Miss America fan seeing every show since 1962 and I was very disappointed with the last telecast and hard for me to say, but may stop supporting ($$’s), and watching. Sad.

Agreed but I think the main problem is that this pageant was afraid to be a "beauty pageant" and always wanted to pretend it was something else. I have generally always preferred Miss USA for that reason though they are bowing to political correctness as well.

Since my VCR player or VHS player broke about 5 years ago the this VA dispatchant plus for other pageants that I bought the 89 the 90 the 91 I came with the other one was as well as the crowning moments one because I only lived two hours away from Atlantic City so I ordered them asking them to make them into tape or VHS tapes and then drove to Atlantic City to get them. And then they started that policy where they were no longer selling them. Which is extremely disappointing to me because I cannot find anybody who has one of those players where you can take a video of like a high quality VHS tape like I have the one that I paid I think they were $50 each for all five, and transfer it to CD I'm sorry DVR. If I If you in any way lived in the Mid-Atlantic area and would have the ability to and willing to receive from me this pageant specifically in the mail that I sent to you registered and insured, and when you had the time upload this copy and I understand it takes a while. Because I think that for those of us who enjoy especially this pageant The quality on mine since I did not do any funny I did a lot of like rewinding to see like previous songs a lot on my VHS player but this page and I never did so none of there there's nothing missing first of all nothing's been censored out or taken away from commercials but also it's it's clear as day. It's like the new person to put up the recent 1994 pageant In the last maybe I don't know half year, an incredible improvement upon the previous one that was on here and only available as far as I mean it's like Not night and later that night but it was literally quite literally such a profound and wonderful difference that it was night and the next day late at night like that big of a difference and so I don't you know I wish I can get you my copy I wish I had a render a friend or relative that could take my VHS tape that I have uploaded to DVR and then upload it to the KZread site cuz I would do it. I'm still furious that I paid hold on just want to know a minute I bought a total when I went to Atlantic City I I gave them $300 I can't remember what all 16 for but anyways that's beside the point to take all of that money from people and then when my one of my tapes actually broke that I bought It might have been the crowning moments one and when I called the actual office when it was still in Atlantic City without giving me any explanation as whether it was the controversy still surrounding the state of the guy who wrote the Miss America theme song or what it was the woman completely well she was very disappointingly dismissive not apologetic not any bit of compassion and sort of kind of when I had asked her some questions as to why it is why couldn't you know I get a copy I've already paid for one if you know can you not give me a reason you know it should I not be and then I said to her If you're not going to answer me question and this is now sounding suspicious for you Can you at least say yes or no Is the tape in my machine Are they okay as opposed to toxic and blow up and she says well why would you ask that question like that well I bought six from you guys and one of them, the one I watched the very least of all the crowning moments in my most recent VHS player and not the other five pageants broke during mid play with no warning and a completely highly quality VHS tape. And then I just basically said man why you're frustrated with me when your providing the front and public service part of an organization that's a non-profit why you're in that job if you're so unpleasant I don't know but I wish you the best of luck lol anyways I digress. Let me know if anybody would be able to upload a different quality I'm having a lot of trouble with the background static. Thank you for the read

I can get enough of watching all these former Miss America’s on stage. My only wish, they could have been introduced individually just as they did in 1983 the 30th Anniversary of the first telecast. I think we may be in for a huge disappointment with the 100th Anniversary this December because I don’t think they will be introduced either. I just HOPE they give the formers a segment during the telecast. So many have passed since the 90th…..how many more chances will be left? The last pageant simply has entirely TOO MUCH talking, zero entertainment.

....Saw the on-stage reunion of past Miss America winners, 13:52---16:50, in this video of the 75th anniversary. I agree Bill, they had plenty of time to introduce all of the women who took time and effort (and on their own dime) to attend this pageant. If they had time to show relentless phone-bank segments on this so-called public vote poll (which we all know would result in a swimsuit vote victory) then they could have done the introductions of former winners. Unless the Bert Parks screw-up of the 1969 to 1990 winners during the 1990 Miss America pageant made them nervous to risk that again. And on a side note---someone on-stage close to Bert should have quickly fixed things vs just let a total confusion on live national tv play out---in the end that would have made Bert look better than what we ended-up with, and the last group of ex-Miss America winners would have gotten their "close-up" introduction which I too hope they will do in December for the so-called 100th year Miss America anniversary show. By the way, in this video, does anyone know who are the two oldest former Miss America winners in the front row standing to Leanza Cornett's left...the woman in red and the other in black? Bill, your name sounds familiar, are you a local or state volunteer? This is being posted here on September 26, 2021, I am curious if anyone knows why they did not have Regis or Johnny introduce the former winners here and if they will do so at the 2021 Miss America pageant to select Miss America of 2022? Any one have a direct way to reach Shantel Swedlund Krebs and others now in charge of the 2021 pageant to request on-stage introductions?
