I was one of the soldiers on stage. We were in Dallas/Ft Worth doing a parade after Desert Storm and we're invited to watch the pageant. We'll they decided to put us in the show also. Lots of fun. Had lunch with all the girls too.

My mother was in this pageant as Miss White Settlement! She was so close to winning, but her talent portion was compromised after her ex-husband (not my father) came on the phone to tell her that her nephew had passed away beforehand instead of afterwards! What a jerk! Still, she’s thankfully kept her beauty to this day.

Dang. Those judges were awful. Chenowith blew everyone out of the water. She would have EASILY made top ten at Miss America with that talent and personality. To think Pennsylvania could have had the brightest feather in their cap had Chenowith been crowned. What were those judges thinking!?

I was 7 in 1975 and all I really remember was The Farrah and Jaclyn Smith’s kind of hair, as well as Kate Jackson’s and Dorothy Hamill’s. Sheesh!! Anyway, I thought Miss Rhode Island was stunning 🤩

Paula Jones Miss Johnson City was arrested in 2007 for assault and DUI and was fired from her teaching position. She died a few years ago at age 53. Such a waste of an amazing talent.
I met Jeni Stephens when I worked for DCS. She was really as sweet and beautiful as she appears on stage. Such a sad end to such a shining light.

I watched this with some of the girls in my freshman class at Fairmont State college in West Virginia. It was very exciting to see our WV girl get so close to winning.
