This is a demonstration of utilizing the mirror-fast mode in 3D printing. In this mode the print speed is faster by more than 8X of the standard mode.

You are correct with regards to a mechanical actuator. However, this is a hybrid where the laser is reflected at a distance R. Therefore the print speed achieved is more than 250 times the speed of a mechanical actuator; e.g. mechanical actuator top speed is ~3 meters/sec, while this system can move the laser in a speed of more than 1000 meter/sec when using a brushless motor for the rotating mirror.
