Man I think you forgot to mention Andy Hug, Hands down he's the most dynamic of both. But anyway, Mirko is a great example why some Dutch people shouldn't leave others out. It's not about nationality and not about the style, it's about the martial artist.

Both of these guys are excellent sportsman. Props for both. I have to say, nowadays, Cro Cop is a lot more exciting to watch because of Aerts' age.

But you shouldn't forget that the old fighters brought k1 success.Cro Cop is a complete fighter, Aerts is skilled in muay thai.If he fights in mma rules, he probably goes to the box.

the hugging is called clinching and is still allowed in K-1. It's a big part of Mu-thai and nowadays in K-1 has to be followed by a move or attack immediately. clinching can be an important part of attacking in thai kick-boxing, a lot of knee work and throwing opponents off balance is involved.

mirko got a warning, aerts got the point deduction, though i saw aerts initiate the clinch pretty much all the time. mirko dominated this fight. why do you think aerts was clinching in the first place? he was getting bludgeoned by mirko's superior boxing.

You could be right, and we need new blood. The originals have been in control too long. Badr Hari's looking lethal, especially against Feitosa and Sefo. I just really suspect his chin, and his ability to effectively strike through Schilt's reach. I'd love to see him batter Schilt though.

That's not the point. I was talking about his kicks that are lethal. Jerome LeBanner and Mighty Mo were some of the greatest punchers in K-1 history but they never won the world championship so you can't call them lousy fighters just because they never won the title, their skills defined those men.

aerts had nothing for crocop here, he was at a huge speed disadvantage and just clinched all day long. and this was aerts in his prime.

well yes i dont think as myself an expert, i just give my opinion the same way an expert does, but the truth is i aint seeing kicks from aerts, and still every k-1 fan says aertz got the best kicks, but thats not true u can see that on this fight, and on all cro cop fights, trust me,he not only has power on his kicks, he also has many kicks, and has better hands than aertz, so he is virtually superior in all apsects.

seriously? aerts did no damage. he barely attacked the entire fight. and you can't score based on "well, he *could've* knocked him out." i think it was a clear victory for mirko.

Barely a heavyweight champion in K 1 hasn't been Dutch over almost the last 20 years. Aerts x 3, Hoost x4, Bonjansky x2 and Schilt x3. I suppose there's just a very high standard of kick boxing training in Holland, but do you have any other explanations?

If you are in anyway trying to say that Mirko was not a good MMA fighter you are unaware , Fedor Emelianenko said that Mirko CroCop was one of his hardest fights ever, he trained longer to fight Mirko then he had for anyone prior. I believe had Mirko kept his killer mind state he would be a champion in the UFC right now. He had great sprawl and his stand-up is great.

And Aerts is still fuckin guys up here, there and everywhere, only Schilt can take him. Badr Hari VS Aerts will be interesting.

snarfje008 k1 world grand prix champion 2012, pride open weight champion, igf champion, although he is a kickboxer he became a legend in mma...i dont say aerts is bad or was bad he is good, but cro cop is better, he is a decorated legend and rolemodel

humblewarrior I love Crocop and is one of the best MMA fighters ever, he never became K1 champs though and got beat many times, also by Hoost. Aerts won K1 3 times. I agree Aerts was rubbish in this fight though, but to say Crocop is a better kickboxer simply isn't true.

WGACA cro cop won k1 belt. pride. igf. and yesterday he won rizin open weigh tournament all fights by ko. he is sure better than aerts. plus hes a mma fighter. not just a kickboxer

REALLY!!??? were are the kicks???? i just saw aerts taking kicks from cro cop the whole fight, i know aertz used to be a good kicker, but his kicks were overrated, now cro cop still kicks, and still kicks hard.

meh, technically he still does, it's just everyone knows cro cops style and they're sure to dodge that head kick. if anyone gets hit by it all, they're fucked. cro cop isn't the same fighter, he tried to kill himself before the fight with the last guy he just had in ufc. but no one has the head kick highlight like cro cop does. he has the most head kick ko's that i know of, idk who has a bigger head kick record. oh well fuck it

obviously you don't know what the hell you're talking about. crocop tooled him in the early rounds and then aerts tried avoiding the boxing/kicking exchanges in the last round by constantly clinching. crocop was being elusive and counter punching. if he was avoiding the fight he wouldn't have won it.
