    I'm actually doing the same thing right now. My mirage already has all the body stuff on it, I just need to find a new trunk and new hood for it. Then I'll find a new evo 8 floor pan and just take it from there. I had an evo 8 but got in an accident and couldn't use the floor pan from that one. I however got literally everything else out engine, trans, rear diff, etc. I just need the floor pan and I'm pretty much close to done. My evo 8 engine had 50k miles on it too!

    blackdragoon420 look up evo 5.9 on evom. Some guy in hawaii used a lot of stuff from an evo 9 in his car like chassis bracing, floor pan, front subframe, firewall, and dash. The CT9A (evo 7-9 chassis) floor pan will fit on the mirage

    Yeah it's amazing and fun build older evo's were my favorite. Sucks we couldn't get them into the states like everywhere else in the world lol. I took my time building one it was so much fun compared to buying it. I have another one I'm building this year won't be done until 2020 maybe

    Awesome project, I have exactly the same project planned for next year! Can you please tell me where did you get the Evo 4 body parts from? Do they bolt up directly to the chassis or are new mounting holes required? Looking forward to see more progress of your work. Cheers!

    Saikat Banerjee all parts direct fit. Your best bet for oem Evo 4 parts is either eBay or www.japperformanceparts.co.uk if u have money go to this website. So far it's only been exterior and interior work done no motor work yet. But going awd in the winter sourcing a Evo 8 rear floor pan for the awd setup.

  • @saikatbanerjee2669

    Thank you very much. Also, may I ask, why not just source an evo 4 rear floor pan?

  • @PureGfx529

    @PureGfx529

    7 жыл бұрын

    Saikat Banerjee it's easier for me to source a Evo 8-9 in the states. Harder to find 4-6 floor pan around here so basically I have to pay international price for a floor pan. I rather get a Evo 8 rear cut with everything easier for me. Comes with subframe rear diff brembo axles everything it will bolt on direct

    Oh ok. Actually I live in India (importing EVOs are banned here because of the engine size + ridiculously high customs duty for any other jdm car), so I'm just planning to get an Evo 4 floor pan swap from Malaysia. Ed T tbh mirage are amazing . The things u can do to it is limitless. Since your car is sitting might as well do something to it. like awd swap or swap a eclipse motor and keep it fwd or do a full conversion. Strip it and do a auto to manual conversion. I never lost motivation. As of right now still waiting to do a full 4g63 swap and awd. Money is a problem right now. Soon or ly

    PureGfx529 yes I really like the older Mirage over the newer 3cyl ones, I'm not really a fan of a lot of the newer technologies they have implemented, just seems like more expensive parts which could go bad if there's an electrical issue... the rear end damage is bad on the trunk and latch but doesn't affect handling, and it has a sunroof! so I think I might go ahead with the conversion, time will tell hopefully I'll have my own cool mirage conversion video up soon

    Wow! Please post who the body kit was manufactured by? Looks wise, outside of the rally heritage body kit & built 8n huge driving l8ghts, it reminds me of the lower performance but much cooler body treatment 2k+ *no initial G20. 8 had 1 of the 1st Gen iG20s & 8-10 years ago, every drift guy wanted to buy the car simply for the under 100k miles low port engine + imy car came with a 5 speed , new clutch transmissi9n. Oddly I bought it from a tow company known for ripping tow customers off locally 8n NorCal. The tow company got banned from doing any business at Cal-Train hubs + the airport & everyou bus terminal within 100 miles radius. Yet kept their AAA licenses (also got banned from Infineon all drags & motorcycle racing in every class + all AMAZON races). I bougot my 96 perfectly clean, sitting at the tow yard for 3 months with 988k miles & it had all receipts in it + the stage 1 clutch box still in it. Female driver car from tOakland. Still had female clothes in it & a ton of bridal shower gifts & party favors. Looks like it got towed the night of the bridal shower? With tax & smog & fees, it cost me a total of $1189 to get it reg'D in my name. DOHC was like having a supercharger kick in @ 5100 r0m. Added an ebay cold air intake & chattering the front (go9d) Toyota tires, it would embarrassed any 99-2k+ gen V8 Mustang GT/4th gen/non fox body 4.6 literally GT especially after I added a $3 ebay solenoid that tracked the MAF sensor 8ntimacy thinking that it was always running at 50F--598F outside temp. Very fun mid distance car & still the 9nly car I've ever owned that has auto rotating middle heat/AC vents. Fabulous 8n hot weather. Wonder8ng, did you rattle can the primer & the top gloss white coat? )looks very nice. Respect either way. & how far with the stock mirage to evolve iv swap mechanically did you g9? Hope it was 8nsurance $$ from a light account that paid for it. Great project overall. A 4wd Tal9n/eclipse turb9/drive train would make a fast & sporty ending to your v8d. Have seen at least 5 gen 1 eclipse turbo 4wd swaps running around the bay area. Here. Personally *don't live to just find a low miles decent 1st Gen Talon/eclipse & upgrade it into a fun daily 4wd turbo driver car. Already owned a 97 16v NBA eclipse w/t-tops. Car was fun & fast. Still a huge demand out here for any 16v+ 1st Gen Eclipse specifically cars. People just add a cheap oversized turb9 + turbo manifold 9N to them. My mechanic's won't let me buy anymore J mass market project cars anymore. It has to be hand-built for him y to touch it now, meaning European only. He did upgrade my old age/comfortable car from 335 bhp at the tires up to 440+ why just by doing the software upgrades from 05 Da8mler/Porsche/Audi by upgrading just the stock 05-16 year software updates + adding a power commander type RCU unit to the car. 550 $'s 4wd dybo'D ft. Lbs of torque now on the AWD unit. Makes his chipped 2012 V12 twin turbo coupes seem almost slow now. Completely bespoke (think British owned by Germans) hand-built car includ8ng body. I call it the $anti-Tesla". 8n sport mode it's close to 0-100 or 1 faster in 1/4 mile but sucks 10 mpg city. Totally restored now f8nally.. Horrible gas mileage but close to Ludicrous mode 0-60 & faster 0-100 or quarter mile or top speed. Was dyno tuned for a day recentlyou + had shift points changed & now no speed governor. Actually slipped by original factory inspection with no speed governor for any gear. Thankfully the 31st + auto-lane correct + audio & visual notifies keep me from killing myself, yet. Incredibly finicky car though but * don't see myself coming the other way, ever. Know 9F 1 with a Lamborghini 12 cylinder engine swap with twin yturbos in my county. Another 30k miles & if it looks clean @ 1st dual engine chain inspection, I'm going to convince him to let me do a full Procharger install if the eng8nes interior 8s clean. Should be. Just 100% gone through & mobI'll synthetic all its' life, under 90s miles. Nicer inside than any apt. 8 ever had & a few houses. I'm 6" & I can comfortably take a nap on the rear seats. I do have an American car & Japanese car long term mechanics but I understand his think8ng. Why 8nvest/get upside down 8n a car you want keep forever. Sports cars are out now due to putting my head thru an m3 convertible dr8ver's side window while "doing something stupid " during middle age. Back & bnecjk now demand comfort 9ver pure speed & no more motorcycles. 😈😈😈 Great video & pr9ject. I live vicariously now. Age s7cks.
