Mitsubishi MIRAGE Conversion to a 2 Door EVO

Would you take the time to convert a Mitsubishi Mirage into a 2 Door Mitsubshi Evo 8? Well join Nadine as she speaks with the owner of this crazy modded stanced Mitsubishi Mirage, who not only did that but modded it to compete as an Evo time attack build. Archie, the Team Hybrid Nevada Chapter Director, walks us through all the performance tuning he's done upgrading it from stock at 91 wheel horsepower to 800+ AWPH!
In order to race this Time Attack build, he was able to shed 10% of its weight. Under the hood, he's got a 4G63 motor from a Mitsubishi Evo with a billet crankshaft, and forged pistons and rods as well as a Sheepey top mount turbo kit. The Mirage is usually a 4 door, but he cut out the rear floor of the car and put in the rear floor of an Evo. He also converted the Mirage to an all-wheel drive by ordering a full wide body Varis kit for a Evo 5/6 body style so it's for a 4 door Evo and reengineering and re welding the back and reinforcing it with strut bars and a roll cage.
He's also got nice carbon fiber accents throughout the interior with rare Recaro seats and a steering wheel signed by a WRC Champion.

He spent more on mods than the car is worth so im not too impressed. Its a one of a kind car and looks amazing but not worth the price

@@akselcapuri who modifies a car for profit? I would understand if it's to flip a car for profit but everyone knows that when you modify a car almost always the car is going to be worth less than a stock one.

I wish I found this vid when I owned a Mirage a long time ago! This build is badass!
I own a Mirage as an daily. I'll admit it's not a bad idea. People forgotten how well the aftermarket support still exists for the Mitsubishi line up from the 90's through the early 2000's. It's something different and something fresh to see people taking advantage of the Mirage platform. Technically the Mirage that was sold in the U.S. is nothing more than a base model Lancer that's rename in the states. True Japanese quality and affordably. All build's can can turn from a dream into a reality if that individual put there mind into it. Awesome build overall!

My first car was a 99 Mitsubishi CJ0 Colt, I then bought my Evo IV which didn't come with any floor mats, seeing as I still owned the Colt I thought I try them in the Evo, they are a perfect fit. The engine bay, & lots of other points on the Colt chassis are able to take Evo parts without much fuss. Ralliart Germany even made an official Wide bodykit for the Colt, look up Ralliart Colt SR4X.

I own a base model lancer. The boring version of the evo. The 1.6 fwd drivetrain is not very mind-blowing, but now I want to make it an evo, cuz I can. This video inspired me to BUILD my dream, not to buy it. Thanks for this video!!🎉🎉! Consider me your new subscriber.🎉

I did converted Mitsubishi colt with awd system and 4g63 engine in 2005 , it is something different, everyone can buy evos but people can built mirage/ colt with evo stuff , it's real fun but need to spend time and money

I ordered my kit thru MastermindNA in southern california. The kits is for evo 5/6 cp9q chasis and its called Varis ASSO

Theres a couple on youtube theres abit of chopping involved and some expense buying the 4wd drivetrain. You may be able to get it cheap from an outlander or airtrek. Personally id go 6g75 rwd

You're just mad someone has a 2 door Mirage that makes more power then your 4 door Evo, it shares the same chassis, shares the same drive train, upgraded everything else, what's the issue? Queer.
I been looking for carbon door panels for a mirage for the logest. Anyone know where I can get a set or would I have to have them made ?
