Thank you David. Very helpful as usual. I have a question; I wonder why Jesus is timing his ministry? I understand it from a logical point of view, but from a trusting God's providence point of view it doesn't make as much sense to me. For example in our lives, God is in control and when we look back we can see His providence. I wonder why Jesus didn't simply allow things to unfold without trying to control them from a human perspective. Does that make sense?

I think it is because Jesus is so in tune with God's will (being God incarnate). He has a mission to accomplish, and He won't do anything that would cause that mission to end before the appropriate time. God's providence doesn't mean we can go out and be reckless and expect Him to fix everything, but rather it means being faithful to His calling and trusting God will provide for our needs along the way. So Jesus being mindful of how the opposition is reacting isn't a denial of God's providence; it is a matter of being faithful to His mission and only doing things according to God's timing. I hope that kind of makes sense.

@@NowLetsBeHonest thanks David, yes that makes sense. I've been thinking about all those hours He spent in prayer. He would have been so in tune with his Father.
