Minor Blues Basics: Pentatonic Scales, Chord Tones, Harmonic Minor, Diminished Arpeggios

Музыка

The notation and tabs for the arpeggio examples are FREE here- / jackruch
Feel free to come join me on Patreon for additional tabs, notation, backing tracks and more!
Today we'll look at a basic minor blues progression and what you need to get started improvising and creating solos over this chord form. We look at a very simple version of this progression with the chords: Amin7, Dmin7, and E7.
I'll take you through a few approaches I use to outline these chords, along with 4 solo examples that put these approaches into action. I'll show you:
Minor Pentatonic Scale Approaches
Outlining Chord Tones w/ Arpeggios
The Harmonic Minor Scale
and 2 Diminished 7th Arpeggio Substitutions

Man, I could listen to you play all day. I can't find the words to express just how tasty your playing sounds. What kind of fingers are you using!? They say tone is in the fingers, but yours just sing like a heavenly choir. You sir, play the blues like no other! Thanks for the incredible lessons!

I am researching like crazy, trying to learn the basics. Your play is really smooth and musical. I would however say that the name of the lesson might not be appropriate? (Blues Basics, definitely not basics... more in the area of semi-advanced). Where might those of us who are in need of 'true basics' find the proper step by step in order to arrive at this level at some point in the future? Playing like you just did would be a dream but at this point I am just not there and need to really solidify basics as building blocks in order to be able to follow this lesson. With respect, thank you.

Great lesson! Can somebody tell me what’s sitting on the amp? I’ve been seeing those on a lot of videos. Is that a head or some kind of a effects unit?

Is a Universal Audio Ox Box. It's a reactive load box for recording amps direct without having to mic the speaker
