Hot Take: Hopefully Spurgeon plays well and stays healthy for the first couple of months of the season and trade him to the Oilers. They're going to make another push and McDavid needs a puck moving defenseman. It's a respectful move for Spurgeon and to add to the cap space next year would be huge! Non hot take: Waive Johansson, Trade Merril for some cones, Package Gaudreau and Gustavson in a trade.

The problem is Billy has been played in every contract. We should have been waiting to sign anyone outside of the young guy until next year. We have used all the “cap space” we are supposed to have already. All that money will get tied up now with Faber and Rossi.

@@nathanpalmquist2031 Gus’s contract isn’t really that bad. He just didn’t play as good as year 1. But who did play well last year? And the guys in front of him pretty much sucked outside of Faber. Also, we aren’t going to get much in a Gus trade.

I don't love Jojo, but his zone entries are the cleanest on the roster. Just need to get him on the 3rd line with someone that can forecheck. Hopefully Foligno is healthy this year.

@@capnstems5026 what are you talking about? Sure the buyouts come off the books. But we are gonna have to pay Faber at least 7mil. Rossi gonna take about 4-5mil. That 11mil of the 14 mill we have tried up in buyouts. With the all these horrible resigning we might be lucky to have room for one 6mill player and that doesn’t even account for Middleton new contract coming.

The question we should all be asking is when is “the window” open for the Wild? I think we all believed that window would be cracked open after the cap hits expire next year but those NMC and no trade extensions look like we just keep repainting the frame and that window is still stuck shut until we can pay the right guys to come in and fix it. We got 1/2 a team at best and a bunch of “hard workin” guys just coasting here

The Wild's PK sucked last season and Trenin is a PK specialist. I'm not against this signing unless he was given a NMC. He could always be shipped out at the trade deadline to a Cup contender. Put Ohgren with Zucc/Rossi and that line is already better without NoJo. They're better off waiting a year for Yurov to come over.

That kind of thinking like we can once again be the 3rd most penalized team in the NHL is backwards. No, the goal is play cleaner and play ahead. We are ridding the team of Luccini and Letierri, who got their stick in skates every time we turned around! Marco Rossi needs to work on this as well! We need to be disciplined and use our feet to get with skaters. Chasing from behind, slashing, hooking and tripping can be avoided with effort and discipline but our coaches don't seem to believe in that concept.

@@bobholst874 There's not really any rush to fix their lack of scoring this year. I'm rather see them play the waiting game with Heidt, Haight, Yurov, Ohgren, and Buium. If it means Kaprizov leaves, then so be it. I wouldn't be against them still trying to get Necas or Laine, but don't want to see them give up any significant assets like Rossi.

Freddy is fine Judd. He isn't useless! You could tell he was playing hurt for the majority of last season.

The only "identity" this team has had under Bill is... they are Losers. The stupid Grit First shit doesn't work, hasn't worked and yet here is Billy doubling down again. We now have 9 guys for the bottom 6 which is everything that is wrong with this team. We are one of the only teams in this league with TWO checking lines cause Billy keeps overpaying for bottom six guys. Hopefully this is the last year with this piece of shit GM.
