The look on his face when the 2nd attempt worked is priceless...
Love this episode!
Wow, 80 foot wave is an absolute banger and I had no idea that the Vqueros existed
I grew up in Calumet MN and listened to a lot of surf rock in the 60s and 70s. My parents were in charge of the jukebox at the Grange Hall and were looking for new recordings that would draw more young folks to the Hall. Even they thought Surfin Bird was good. They bought many other good songs and that did draw in more young folks.
Haylee, you missed “Colder by the Lake” by Rick Shefchik, Marks brother. It was a local hit in Duluth using a phrase that was in every weather report on TV. It’s on Shoreline records.
Awesome episode! Only note is that I think the the closed captioning meant to type "Marketts" instead of "Marquettes" - Love this series. Keep up the great work
