Just when i was beginning to think the platform gun couldnt be anymore worthy of "the all around best traversal tool" title

Definitely useful for horizontal minerals, but I can't imagine many scenarios where mining a 3-hit wall is any better than just making platforms to get around obstacles, that said it s a good tech to keep in mind when running engineer.

I agree, it's not useful in every situation, but it does have it's uses in places with those hard 3-hit rocks when you need to quickly dig a spot out.

@@sephiroththephoenix I typically dig 2 into a wall, then use a platform. Seems to get the most wallbreak per platform.

I had not thought of this. I knew the platforms mined fast and that hitting weak materials close to strong materials can catch the strong material in the mining AOE, but hadn't put 2 and 2 together on using platforms to speed up mining of materials that take more swings.

With the recent epc Nerf this provides somewhat of a relief for those pesky gold mines.

There's been a few times we haven't had a driller, and we were doing something like a uplink or a fuel cell, and we needed more space... I imagine this is good for that situation!

Definitely! Usually on the 3-hit terrain maps it takes too long so people don't bother with it, which can be dangerous in the higher hazard levels. This at least helps speed the process up for those scenarios.

You can do something similar with most of gunners weapons. Minigun, autocannon, hurricane, and bulldog create slag on the ground in most biomes, which is a 2 hit. Makes hot rock which I think is 2 hits in magma core, and I think it makes carbon a 1 hit in hollow bough. Useful in all the 3 hit biomes, and in hollow bough

Makes me want to play Bastion :)

Well if you haven't played it yet, Hades is basically "Better Bastion".

@@greyfalconow9467 I played both, but I found Bastion a lot more endearing than Hades. I think I even preferred Bastion's combat. But, Hades does have an excellent mechanic to keep a player at it.

Remember when it actually knocked minerals out of the wall for like a day? Fun times

I do this, but your team always complains

Using this strat on 3 hit thing is reasonable but saving one pickaxe hit of gold or compacted dirt or heck umanite is really not worth the effort and just a waste of ammo, since you have your power attack to fasten the mining of gold or compacted dirt and resoursces like umanite or hollomite, heck even magnite can in most cases be mind at the rot to instanty destroy them, overall it's and okay tech 7/10 imo useful solo, but most of the time not much really.
