The best decision I have made in recent years. I have not watched television in the last 7 years and the truth is I do not miss it at all. I don't buy water bottles. After reading the books I donate them to the city library. 1 Last month, I threw thousands of photographs away that no longer have any emotional value in my life. I keep the use of social media to a minimum. I use the cell phone only for what is to keep in touch with my family and closest friends and work. When I go on vacation, I only turn on the cell phone for 1 hour at the end of each day, I disconnect from the noise of the world and reconnect with myself.

@@MalamaLifeahh right?!?! It's so satisfying when you can't possibly get another drop - I sometimes even cut bottles of lotion to get the most out lol I sure do! I usually just do an essential oil mixed with a bunch of vinegar and water but I'm gunna try adding baking soda like you suggested. It saves sooo much money making your own!!! And I'm sure it's better with less chemicals going everywhere, esp w. pets I always worry they get it in their feet and lick it

I just started minimalism in sept , from originally being sneaker head its extremely hard passing on material possessions, especially when there’s huge sales. But at the end of the day it is worth it. I have saved over $3000, when before sept i would get paid on Friday and be broke by the next Monday .

I have always felt that way about seasonal decorations. Why do we go through all the stress and money to try to keep up with things every month or two? What value does it really add to the life versus keeping decor very minimal? Thank you so much for your point of view! This really resonates with who I am as a person!

How do you deal with guests. I mean, there are four of us, my husband, myself and my two kids. But my parents and brothers occasionally come to visit, and it is then that I would need more plates and cups and stuff. They would come every other week (before the pandemic), so I don't get people who limit their plates and stuff.. What do you do when people come over to visit...

Good video! I relate to many of the things you have said. A few years ago I sold my gigantic house and purchased a condo with cash. I didn’t need a 1 acre yard to care for any longer. I wasted money on all of my lawn and yard care Every month. As a single person I wasted lots of electricity and resources living in a big house by myself. It didn’t make sense. In fact, I think I bought the house because of social pressures and thinking I needed to do what everyone else did which was buying a big house. I guess some people call it the American dream. Downsizing to a condo that I could buy with cash was such a refreshing way of life. No more bills. No more yard expenses. Minimalism. The things I have are very nice. The furniture I have is very nice. But I don’t need much. I don’t need three living rooms full of furniture anymore. I need one set. The things I have are very nice but they are very minimal. I live a life of paying for everything with cash and no bills. No credit card bills. A minimalistic life is the way to make you feel lighter and more free as a person. The less things you have the lighter you feel. There’s nothing weighing you down. Come and go as you please without anxiety over all of the things you have to take care of. Thank you for this wonderful video. I will have to try a coffee press. Lol

This is so lovely and calming! I think the point you made about seasonal items is interesting, as I do the opposite for the same reason of keeping things minimal. What I mean is that, having grown up moving continually, I have a real need for change in my home environment, as well as visual reminders of the places I've lived. I don't like clutter though, so having a seasonal theme allows me to experience a changed environment without having everything up at the same time :)

Thank you for this video! It gave me some inspiration for things to not buy anymore, for example souvenirs, excess kitchen utensils, multi purpose items( I'll have a look at Bioderma, since I want to be as minimally wasteful with skin products as possible) and home decor. I agree that when we have less items, we usually use them more mindfully, we are more fond of them and become more creative with their use.

WOW I am so happy I found you on my KZread screen, there is simply no words, I am just... We are the same? I am just new in that, minimalist, it just came naturally in my life or it was already there but I didn’t put name on it, ; I just don’t like the things of the world , this world , the world of consumption “‘Buy “”Buy “”Buy”!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel relax, my mind is so calm and connected to the spirituality and...Less is More..Less is Beautiful.I used baking soda and essential oil as tea tree to clean and fight the mites from my mattress. It works wonder but I didn’t know about vinegar. Thanks too much.I wear the same kind of clothes same color casual and lovely . Mini. mini less than 10 outfits and I am happy about that... I don’t know why but I can’t stop thinking about Hawaii, I have been so obsessing about Hawaii just before Coronavirus started in Europe. The island follows me everywhere. And now here you are.I don’t know if our path will cross one day here but I wish to... I needed something relaxing and very informative .I didn’t know really since you were already here..Thank you for your “aura” and I think I found what I was looking for. The peace of Mind in a unlimited space

Hey Sophie! You never cease to amaze me, again it's so refreshing to watch your videos because it's very relatable and give confirmation to my point of view. As a naturalist, I believe in natural resources for remedies pertaining to food, healing (medicines) and cleansers for the body and home. The white baking soda, tea tree oil and white vinegar make an excellent aromatherapy cleaning solution, overall t's simple and effective, also try other essential oils like lemon or lavender whatever your preference is. This goes back thousands of generations to the beginning of time in my culture and family. If you were sick you didn't get Robitussin, no my Grandma would serve you a cup of chicken broth and herbs. Thank you for sharing!

Can baking soda, vinegar and essential oils be used in doing the laundry instead of deyergent, chlorine bleach and fabric conditioner and can they also be used in washing the dishes and/or even cleaning our bodies? Because I hate chemicals and I want to turn to the basics. Thank you.

Very good list and comments Sophie!! 🙏😄 Before I started watching, I came up with a list on my own. My list matched yours pretty well!! I also added movie DVDs, plastic straws, and magazines. As a substitute for Lysol, 1/4 cup of bleach in 1 gallon of tap water works well for Covid sanitation. Place in a spray bottle, spray on areas as needed, then discard the remainder down the sink as it is only potent for 8 hours.
