These 1/24 scale doors are made from balsa wood and XPS foam. They're quick and easy to make and look really tidy as a beginner's project.

The doors turned out beautifully. I also use dried baby wipes for curtains, they can also be painted.

Thank you Lucy! And yes baby wipes are excellent for curtains, I've never tried painting them like that before, I'll put that idea in my big book of mental notes for future use. 🙃👍

Good Evening Mandy, your doors are wonderfull, really! I learned a lot in this video. I made a few doors and my best door is a plastic door made from trash. I like your teaching style. If you were my mathmatic teacher I would love maths today 😁. Thanks a lot for this vid! And for new ideas. Have a nice week Mandy ! Greetings Stubenmuckel 😃

Good evening Stubenmuckel! I have not thought much about using plastic as a material, I should really keep it in mind, there's always plenty of plastic trash in my bin. How do you paint your plastic? PS: It's lucky I wasn't your mathematics teacher I'm terrible with maths lol. You have a great week too! 😀

@@dinkydioramas8349 I use acrylic paints for plastic. The cheapest acrylic paints I can get. I have no airbrush and I make it all with my hands. I made an airbrush out of a spray bottle and I use acrylics with destilled water. My plastic robots and spaceships are also painted and sprayed with acrylics. I made the doors out of a litle shower gel container. I mix the colours for rust by myself. I saw a lot of vids and the most people say, that cheap acrylics would flake off, but I have no probs like this. I am a beginner in making dioramas and I wanted to test if people who have not much money can do dioramas. It makes no sence for me in the beginning to buy expensive things if I try a new hobby. I look vids how to do things but sometimes I have an idea how to make it cheaper. Example: I buy cheape figures on flea market and repaint them with permanent markers. A few weaks ago I made wings for a figure out of plastic: they look nice:) I saw in your vids that you have an airbrush and vallejo colours ( if people have no airbrush they can paint things with brushes - it is not so easy but it can look good. no prob for you to make plastic doors. They can look really nice. I make plastic doors when they should look like metal;) Greetings Stubenmuckel 😄

@@stubenmuckel Thats fantastic to hear that you use whatever you can find to create your works, this makes them not only dioramas, but art, as it's all created by you! Not bought, unpacked, assembled and painted...Which is the majority of what people do. I too adore creating from anything I can find or come up with, that's where the satisfaction comes from, which I'm sure you know that feeling. Thak you for you reply, I will play with some plastic and see how I go. 🙂

Heya Denise, I try and make my hands as clean as possible for filming. It doesn't help much, they still look grubby lol, but it's worth it isnt it? 😃
