Why not just use air? A small compressor to feed air into a chamber heated by concentrated solar should be more efficient because the heat of vaporization required to heat the water to the boiling point is not recovered. An expansion of a factor of two is the equivalent of about 185 lbs of force on a four inch diameter piston or turbine.

Great video. I really liked this design of solar plant, except that you have to figure out first how to get it to track the sun so that it stays aimed right. Then you have to use some of the power that it produces to run that motorized tracking. But I learned the way the ancients did it without a tracking system other than the round earth and the movement there of. I keep telling people that if they will pay me I will fix the tower designed systems like the one out in Nevada ( as well as the one I herd about that the chines are about to waist money on )and this kind you have built here. Did I mention that mine costs less to build and far less to operate, it doesn't have to cover so much area or kill wild life. and can be operated at full power instead of the like kind in Nevada and I think I herd of one in California that was of that same design that burned not long ago, that can only operate at a percentage of their total capacity because if they try to run them at full power they melt the metals that they are made of, ( I can fix it ! ) Or We can just get me paid and I'll give out the design that works with solar, wind and geothermal together and runs day and night. Anyone with money and or connections to people with it and the authority to do something with this knowledge. Message me through here and we can talk. Just understand it won't be cheap.

Saline bag pipe from the hospital with the tube adjuster, to small metal tube to the can. Gravity fed from an old big bucket or drum placed a meter above the can. Adjust the flow in on the saline tube and bobs your uncle. $1 cost, done.NOW! Scale this up, use sea water, get a way to separate the salt formed inside the boiler, run a turbine, run the used steam thought the incoming salt water to pre heat the salt water and cool the steam. Now use the clean water use the electricity and use the salt to build roads like they do from Swakopmund to Hentiesbay in Namibia really cheap. 3 Desert problems solved in one go.

This plant is a model, so it oversimplifies things in order to demonstrate the core concept: reflectors heat a fluid, the fluid drives a dynamo. In a full-scale concentrated solar thermal power plant, there are motorised and computerised systems which make the reflectors automatically track the sun during the day, ensuring maximum efficiency. Furthermore, in the real thing, the fluid in the heating chamber is circulated through with a piping system, with heated fluid piped out to a high-temperature storage tank for future use after being heated. On that subject, concentrated solar thermal power plants often don't use water as the directly-heated fluid. Instead, they use "molten salt," which has an absurdly high thermal capacity. The molten salt is heated by the sun, circulated to a high-temperature storage, then circulated from that tank into a water-boiling system in order to drive a steam turbine to generate power. Now, because of the massive amount of heat energy which the molten salt can absorb, a well-designed full-scale concentrated solar thermal power plant can continue producing energy throughout the entire night by circulating the stored high-temperature molten salt heated during the day. Regarding power, I can't imagine that this system is particularly strong. However, in full-scale concentrated solar thermal power plants, production can reach into the hundreds of Megawatts. As for bad weather minimising solar exposure, it should be noted that these plants are most often built in deserts in order to minimise cloud obstruction. This is not perfect, however, and thus these plants need to be backed up with some kind of power storage or power generation system to compensate for these dips in production (eg. pumped hydro, batteries, natural gas, nuclear, etc.).
