Full time PWC Shop owner here: Pull the floating hat, jet pump and driveshaft out and you can pull the engine straight up out of the hull instead of trying to pull it forward off the driveshaft, inside the PTO coupler on the engine is a little plastic sleeve that is pretty easy to break and if it is broken and you run the engine, the driveshaft will pingpong off the crankshaft and wipe out the thrust washers. Your X3s have the same engine as the Seadoo Spark, the 900ACE, those RXT-Xs use the 1630ACE, The successor to the 1503 supercharged engine that is in my $500 Seadoo I'm hoping to get time to start getting progress and videos out on soon, once I get it running, I'll dial it up to 255hp from the factory 215hp it had. I'm excited to see where your boats go, from what I've seen tuning is incredibly limited, tuning licenses from riva are like $500 per vehicle, and then it only loads preset tunes, if you want to actually do a custom tune you have to use their software and pay an extra $250 per vehicle, plus their special maptuner hardware is another $400. Tuning jetskis is an interesting predicament because they run most of their life full throttle full load, like the longest dyno pull in the history of forever. I would imagine you will need to re-pitch your impellers/props to accomodate for the much larger hull having a lot more drag, generally these engines are meant to turn about 8k rpm at wide open throttle, and the hulls are "drag limited" to stay there when in motion on the water, if you're below that you aren't getting all the hp, and if you've above that, you'll just be pounding the rev limiter and if you back off the throttle to keep it at 8k you still won't be getting the hp you paid for, and may be running lean.

$1000 each for a tune is nothing for these guys. Plus the amount of exposure a local tuner would get is 100 times the price of what the tune costs. Someone's going to donate the time and tunes for some exposure.

@@otm646 oh for sure, although I would highly suspect there are few "professional" pwc tuners out there, or at least for sure there are none remotely near our lake. I work on tons and tons of skis every year, and only end up doing anything performance related maybe once or twice a year, 99% of customers just want maintenance and repairs. Even simple stuff like adding 40hp to a Sea-Doo like my $500 RXP can be done for well under $1000, likely about $400-600 including a new polished prop to utilize that power, and not a single person is remotely interested. Being on the coast may be a completely different story though, idk

@@trythistv Dang, I often talk shit about youtube comment sections but it's always nice scrolling through and hitting some gem of knowledge. I'm from the area of the world where snow-mobiles are more our thing and I had always sort of figured jet-skis were in the same ballpark of tune 'em and send 'em -- interesting to know though. Hadn't even considered that these things spend most of their life at wide-open-throttle.

Nice work on the boats, the only thing that would’ve made it better. Drill all of the holes, take it apart and debut it as it’s a need to be waterproof. The black seal the screws as you install them. You might have to do that after you put them in the water and find that they leak. Good Luck. I am an aero engineer. Keep Smiling. Cliff Q.
