    HAve you tried gluing the sidewalls on the m-tires on the front, might also help with the rolling(same with trucks). That camera on the body will also significantly raise the CoG, while its lovely to watch, could probably do the tuning laps without it ;D Fun to see on the m05 when you had it not roll for a few laps, an then as it picks up traction compound from the track, it starts to get more grip. Always fun to watch the track day videos :)

    Man those are some really nice looking cars. Just bought myself a Beetle rally on the MF01X chassis but I am now also seriously considering the Alfa Romeo on the M0-6 chassis aswell. Kepp your great videos coming.

    Thanks for stopping in to chat and thanks for the feedback! The beetle rally is quite fun especially with upgraded taller shocks, I’d recommend a front shock tower because it will allow you to move the suspension points out and gain lots of front traction. Have fun with it! The M06 is a gem I think, I just took my brother to the track with three minis, m08,m05,and m06 and he preferred the m06, hes NEVER driven an rc before really. With the new release of the MB-01 i wonder if Tamiya will discontinue the M06 and m05

    At my local track where they do a bunch of club racing with 88-91 Civic/CRXs, I've been watching and mocking their setup since 2016 and what they typically do right off the bat suspension wise is remove the front sway bar and replace the rear stock one with a thicker 24mm or so one, I've always wanted to run a FF RC, I wonder if removing your front sway bar would give it just enough traction in the front but also enough oversteer in the rear. It's worked magic in real life. I've oversteered coming down and even up off and on ramps repeatedly whether it was the rain or dry. It was fun but also the fastest way around the corners, buried in 2nd or well well into 3rd gear corner entries. Thats the beautify with FF, its like you need to color in between the lines even more careful

    That Alpine is gorgeous! This was very interesting and a lot of fun to watch, especially how the cars react to the changes made! I've always had problems with carpet surface and artificial gras. My M02 chassis rolled over without any effort, lol. Kind of solved it by putting the hardest tire inserts into the front medium compound tires and Tamiya Anti Wear grease into the differential.

    M05s have such a distinctive sound 😂 I could tell it was an m05 without even looking at it. We run an m05 in a field full of m07s. Our car is slower obviously. But it's also a lot louder haha

    Yeah, allowing M07/m08 into M-chassis races, has killed the whole M-class in my area. A "starter" friendly class where you can drive the 100€ M-class, but you cant compete unless you have the 200+ M07/m08, is why it died. I think Tamiya made a boo-boo, with the M08/07, and probably why the MB-01 is coming out, as a more standard chassis for M-class racing.

    @TM In NZ we had to change all the national rules to accompany them. Our local club ran the m07s for a while but we all changed. We all run hobbywing brushless motors to keep the speed equal. All the cars are now wayyy expensive! And that's considered to be a budget class. 300 nzd for the car and 150 for the esc motor combo. Am out the box m05 with an esc and silver can, that works fine, is 200 nzd.

    It was good seeing you back out on the track and very cool to see two new contenders out there! I love my little M05, I have not gotten an M06 yet. I can't imagine trying to run on the high bite carpet but it sure is fun throwing it around on the asphalt! I enjoyed hearing you talk through the runs, I have missed that!

    The 25kg is fast enough but if you want quicker, go for something with low transit time, the link i posted isnt what im using, i can no longer find a link to what im using, im using spt touring car servo, similar casing as what ive linked, except I sometimes use 9kg for quicker servo movement

    Something that I would 100% recommend to everyone is the budget savox servos. There a little more expensive than the futaba ones but there pretty bloody quick for the price.

    Great video. when you do your changes are you doing a change at a time or grouped for video purposes

  • @rexrcs

    @rexrcs

    Great question! I usually try and do one change at a time, however in this video you are correct, I went with multiple changes to cause a drastic affect to keep the video shorter. A typical track session is about 3 hours plus, so I try to compress it as much as I can while still leaving information as much as possible

    Hey Rex, what do you use to wipe your car body clean.? Was that brake cleaner.? Have you tried WD40.?

  • @rexrcs

    @rexrcs

    I currently use brake clean to remove the black rubber marks off the body, wd40 i nice and works but not on the rubber that gets built on the bodies from hitting the barriers
