I remember watching your videos before getting my puppy, thinking about how different my life would be with australian shepherd. Now my puppy is almost 7 months and it’s soo weird watching you and having similar routine, responsibilities etc. hahah Btw. Frankie is the reason why we fell in love with this breed :))

I bought my 1 year old Lab/Border Collie mix a Kong rubber frisbee & she loves it!! The only toy that can tire her out 😂😂

I love watching your channel !! I spent months pre planning and looking for a type of dog that I can share my life with and I fell in love with this breed! Your relationship with Frankie and Indy is such an inspiration and a goal. Would you happen to have any tips or videos on how you got to where you at with Frankie and how you trained Frankie while he was a puppy ?

Like in Calgary we get chinooks. Where the warm winds melt the snow. I think we had 4 or 5 weeks without snow already.

Love your vids. The weather is rough this year. Here in Winnipeg it has been too cold even for my snow loving dogs. Please keep safe with what is going on where you are. I generally don't do anything for birthday because dogs have no idea but Happy Birthday Frankie.

Happy birthday Frankie. Maybe a kiddy pool full of tennis balls or something fun like that. We have two 9 month old Aussies and these cold days are a challenge.

Idea for Frankies B-day: If you have a solidly frozen lake nearby, see if you can go ice boarding, kite boarding or ice sailing with Frankie! The 1st two have you wear skis + a parasail rig so the wind can pull you across the ice (can be done on wide open flat areas of snow too). Or if you can rent an ice sailing boat you might be able to take Franks ice sailing! Check em out online if you guys don't have a spot you already know about. I'm in Ft Collins Colorado & Lake Dillon has all these fun things. Have fun!

Hi my prettyminiaussie_juliette is my best friend ❤ I've been inspired by your playfulness and love for Frankie. We take daily long walks and swim at the beach. I've been looking for a rescue for Juliette to play with but living on Grand Manan Island NB isn't easy to do. Somethings are meant to be! I'm definitely going to build an playful obstacle course instead. It will be fun and stimulating for Juliette. I recently did a huge reno and couldn't decide what to do with all the wood scraps. I can't wait to find a carpenter to build it! I'll keep you posted! 😊

You asked for experience ideas for Frankie's third birthday. I suggest letting him try herding. Get him instinct tested to see if he likes it. I compete in herding with my Australian Shepherd. We both love it.

Been a tough winter with the lower temps. Our 2 Aussies want to be outside, and as long as there is minimal wind, it is not too bad if you dress for it. The good thing about snow, it is tires them out faster. My older one is a frisbee nut, he just likes it, but he is starting to really want to play with tug toys, or play tug with the frisbee. You try to get the 2 of them to play tug with each other, and that always ends up in a wrestling match.

We made a home-made dog birthday cake in June for our female Australian Shepherd, Luna, as she turned one. She LOVED it. I loved that it was not one more “thing” that we purchased for her. Enjoy!

Haha, you were talking about how it’s difficult to exercise you’re dog in the winter, and here in Phoenix it’s the total opposite. In the summer, it’s 9:00 at night and still 95° and at 6:00 in the morning it’s about 85°. My dog always gain some weight during the summer months because some days I don’t feel like getting up at 5am to go for a jog.

Oh my goodness, i know! My manager used to live there and he had to move cause he could never exercise his dogs outside cause it was too hot haha

Are there any dog pools around Ottawa? If Frankie likes to swim that would be a good birthday present. My 3 month old Aussie loves the water ... especially if she can spill it all over the kitchen floor!

Honestly i take them on hikes every single day! Before everything was closed due to pandemic, we would walk the streets and go into stores all the time so that they are more comfortable with noise. But since angelica and i live in different homes, we take the dogs to each other's places every other day so that adds something as well

Question: do you feel it helped with Frankie to get a second aussie? I am on the fence. I have a 6 month old mini aussie, but I work 8 hours a day and feel like maybe he should have a friend. Although I also wonder if I can handle two of them.

Omg -4 in temperature right now where i am at it is 88 degrees at night and during the day because were are entering summer it gets over 90 degrees the coldest it gotten here is 40 degrees or 38 somthing around there.

15th Feb is Franks birthday... whats going to happen for his big 3?

Oh gosh! I don’t remember! I think around 20lbs

I remember talking to my vet about raising my Border Collie puppy and how I can keep up with his energy level. The vet told me something extremely unexpected. She said not to exercise him until he gets exhausted because, over time, I'll condition him to need a certain level of exercise. But if I, for example, only exercise him for 1 hour a day everyday, that's what he'll eventually get used to. Highly energetic and athletic dogs like Aussies and Border Collies will just keep going if you let them. So, even if you can't sustain a lifestyle like Joey's, your dog will get used to it as long as you give them enough mental and physical stimulation.

Hi! What are the treats that y'all are always handing out? Not the bones--the things that look like jerky but aren't...are they lamb lung? Just curious. Also, Happy Bday, Franks!

Well canadians are built different, so i would say -30c is too cold. But a good judgment is if it is too cold for you!

I have a 4dr jeep so when I do take the doors off, i leave the rear doors on so the dogs are safe!
