I love the little detail of offerings placed at the feet of the statues, its a really nice historical touch

This is beautiful, the way the diagonal buildings make the city more dynamic is impressive given how difficult diagonal builds are in minecraft. I also love the way this city is colourful, too much is classical greek architecture depicted as white and sterile, these vibrant colours add complexity and life to this amazing build. Well done.

It is brutally spectacular, it is something from another world, it is art made cubes, it is magnificent, it is something that really has a lot of effort and affection and not everyone knows how to appreciate it. I don't understand why it doesn't have more than 1 million likes. Zeus had some affairs with a Goddess named Litò. Lito was pregnant and when Hera founded out that Zeus cheated on her once again she wanted to take revenge from Litò. Hera forbade the goddess of birth go to Litò and by that when Litò’s delivery started she couldn’t give birth because Hera forbade it! Litò was in pain for nine days and nights not be able to give birth to her children. Every place on Earth denied to help of hide Litò so she can give birth in secret. Every place was afraid of Hera’s wrath! For nine days Litò was travelling around Hellas🇬🇷 to find a place to hide from Hera. Then, a this barren and dry island called Delos or Ortygía in more ancient times, went against Hera’s orders and let Litò come to its lands. Zeus tricked Hera and the Goddess of birth found Litò and helped her to give birth. Litò gave birth to twins, Apollo the God of Sun and Artemis the Goddess of the Moon. From ancient times Delos was a sacred place for the Hellenic people🇬🇷 and they visited the sacred island of Apollo only from religious reasons and festivities! Also, the ceremony of receiving the Godly Fire for the Olympics were always coming from Delos! This cave could be the perfect connection with the ancient Hellenic myth! More info on the myth and Delos as a while for those who are interested, Delos was originally a floating island, that travelled around the Mediterranean by its own accord. When Lito fell pregnant with the twins Apollo and Artemis, Hera was so outraged that she forbade any land with roots in the earth to let her give birth. She wandered Greece (Hellas) for 7 months and 7 days before coming across Delos, which, because it’s floating, didn’t count as part of Hera’s curse. Lito gave birth to the twins, and it became their sacred island, as well as 7 becoming their holy number. As punishment for Delos letting Lito give birth, she cursed it to be rooted to the Earth and never wander again, which is why it’s stationary now.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe Medusa got turned into a gorgan because she was kissing Poseidon in a temple of Athena, so, since I don’t believe the olympians could curse other olympians, Athena took her wrath out on Medusa, turning her and her two sisters from beautiful young woman into hideous beasts, and Medusa was the only one of the three who gained the power to turn people to stone if they looked at her because she was the one in the temple disrespecting Athena by kissing another god. I could be completely wrong about this, this is just what I remember from something I read a while ago

Ok so I just looked it up and Medusa definitely didn’t deserve to be turned into a gorgon, but Medusa had said that she was more beautiful than the gods, then while she was in Athena’s temple, Poseidon took her purity(this was fairly common back then for men of higher standing to take the purity of a young maiden). So since Medusa did “it”in Athena’s temple (albeit involuntarily) and Medusa had been bragging about her beauty. Athena decided to curse Medusa by turning her into a hideous gorgon with venomous snake for hair and the power to turn anyone into stone if they looked her in the eye.
