@@vibrantgleam It's usually a pretty noticeable sign. First, it'll start as a small rain storm, but quickly grow to be a thunderstorm and winds will pick up. At this point, a "mesocyclone" or wall cloud is forming somewhere, so look to the skies and try to look for larger spinning clouds. These storms may sometimes have these features and not have a wall cloud, so don't get worried about every single one. If you can't tell the difference between a supercell and a severe storm, the clouds spinning is a major feature, but also look for hail. Hail will usually fall around the time a tornado intensifies enough to lower to the ground. Tornadoes will usually creep their way down around a massive spinning wall cloud pulling in wind and other clouds. They start at around EF0, but can quickly intensify to the point of breaking homes and trees. Once a tornado is in the ground, get somewhere out of the way and safe. If said safe place is unavailable, just run from the tornado; they don't move fast enough to catch you, and they usually move in straight lines anyways. If you need anything else, just tell me.

A severe storm spawned in right at the start because the mod has a cooldown for spawning storms, but it resets when you start a world. Additionally, storms target the player when they increase in severity.

Can be turned off in the settings, though. I usually did that to have a chance to observe storm from afar, without it immediately speeding right into my face/base for some dangerous race/chase....

i have this mod and here’s my advice: ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, have an underground base/bunker. The surface is your enemy when it comes to tornadoes, as they will always spawn within your render distance. It’s incredibly annoying and I had to ditch my mega base because of it. Also, since the tornado does pull you into it, the only way to not be pulled in is by using an elytra. It’s also beneficial because you can literally slingshot yourself from the tornado. You don’t take damage from the tornado itself, but you will take fall damage if you fall to the ground.

@@Kiyotakaaa524 ironically i removed the mod a few days after this post, but i dont think it has hurricanes. it does have wind storms like snow/sand storms in biomes that have a majority of those things, so you should be good. the tornadoes will definitely eat up your beach house though, so consider that.

i remember watching a minecraft tornado survival series when i was younger and i wanted the mod in my game because i love natural disasters, so i tried following some tutorial on how to download the tornado mod and i did something wrong because i ended up making the game unplayable because it wouldn't launch at all. it didn't crash or anything, it just refused to launch (and i didnt even download the mod)

Haha yeah I'm from NJ and I never seen one in person however I'm a weather nerd so i know a lot about them

I wish this had more variants for tornadoes, specifically multi-vortex tornadoes (similar to Xenia or Jarrell)

There's an updated version of this mod that came out recently like a month or 2 ago for 1.18.2

5:15 copper actually has 2 purposes: lightning rods and spyglasses. it can also be used as a building block if you want. The spyglass lets you see way farther, and lightning rods attract lightning strikes to that specific location.

We need to bring back Minecraft Tornado Survival series.

I remember being hella obsessed with the beauty of tornadoes despite the literal destruction it caused when I was very little. I would search up this mod and watch all the videos about it. After seeing this video made in 2023, it slapped me in the face with a lot of nostalgia and I felt like I was in 2016 again 🥲.

The last time I've seen the tornado mod was from some dude named Mike (insert numbers here). He did various seasons of it and I loved it. This is just as good

Not sure if it was intentional or not, but wind usually does blow into a tornado not out from it, so most of the time if you are close to a Tornado, whatever direction the wind is blowing, the Tornado is moving opposite of that direction.

The funny thing is digging down like 9 blocks can make a pretty safe, at least temporary, base in this mod Literally just a dirt-walled burrow Which is reasonable

if nobody has told you yet, put a siren down in a desert. it's worth it. also, a radar is probably the first thing you're gonna want to make, i usually stick it into the floor (like your crafting table)

It does happen, ask the furthest east Yellowstone EF4 and the Mongolian EF4, it does happen its the altitude that cuts off the right ingredients but if a mesocyclone is strong enough then it will drop, i know my stuff lool, its ok im not blaming you, its like how "Tornadoes dont drop by rivers, citys etc" they happen anywhere it's just the right ingredients

I always find ways to try and storm chase in games (BC i'm a storm chaser, not a psychopath) and now i can storm chase in minecraft

Tip if your in the eye of tornados your save if the tornado is forming on top of you safe and it has a few minutes to fully form but it fully forms on you :( edit. use this if you get a hurricane while in a boat or if you have a tornado
