A lot of people are very angry about this, but they couldn’t keep it forever. The fact that they did anything at all is enough. Edit: keep in mind, most game companies wouldn’t do anything at all, and mojang changes the launcher picture for every update, so adding a pig with a crown in every single updated picture would be more effort then it is worth for them (don’t get me wrong, I wish they did continue to add the pig, but I’m just saying it makes sense why they got rid of it eventually).

Some people can’t understand apparently, but the techno pig wasn’t going to stick around forever. Think of it like going to someone’s grave and leaving some flowers behind, it looks pretty for awhile, but when they begin to wilt, they need to go. Every time some opens up minecraft on java you shouldn’t see the techno pig, having a more positive splash tag dedicated to him just seems better and logical because its a small tribute to him they can sustain. Even if it seems small, I think its a huge deal to have your name put into the game at all. Who knows how many people get that splashtag every day. Hundreds of thousands? (Depending on the playerbase). Don’t take the removal of the pig as Mojang just dumping techno out the trash, its just them trying to give him the peace he deserves y’know. A name tag easter egg would be neat but its ultimately up to Mojang to decide what suffices.

It wasn’t even there for a month. That’s what people were really upset about.

The thing is though, bad things happen in life, but you got to learn to move on. Techno did not deserve such an early death, but we got to learn to move on from something.

I think it is ok, that they removed it. They cant keep every big and importent person, who have died and might die in the future on the title screen. It was great to see it and the splashtext is still there, but life has to go on somehow.

They also did a secret text at the top of the logo in-game, its pretty rare and says “Technoblade Never Dies” iconic and true

What I wish they would do is have a pig wearing a crown to have a high spawn chance like they do with pink sheep, spider-jockeys, and baby zombie-chicken jockeys. It would be good for the community while still being subtle. Or if you were to name a pig ‘Techno’ or ‘Technoblade’ the pig would have a crown. We already see this with other mobs being named ‘Dinnerbone’ or ‘Johnny’ and more.

Mojang put an in-game feature where if you name a rabbit toast it turns different just for one dumb rabbit that a fan owned but when an actual Minecraft legend dies they dont bother putting in any name tag feature. Wtf

It was a memorial, like the game is not based on techno blade, and I know he was a big part of the community, and it was good when at the time they added it, but were people expecting there to be a pig with a crown on every update?

They’re not gonna keep him on there forever.

In my humble opinion, they should do what Valve die when Rick May passed. Every April, the TF2 menu features Soldier with Taps playing in the background.

They cant put the techno crown back on cause of legal reasons. They didn’t have any rights to him.

The pig is actually still there sometimes when I load up the launcher the image will not load and it will show the old one with techno the pig.
