Definitely shows how dangerous a dam breach is. The only thing missing is the destruction as the water forces everything out its way as it stampedes downhill

The low-pass filter on the music when the camera’s underwater is a nice detail! The music choice is also oddly upbeat for such a severe flood.

Water flowing through window panes is kinda odd... but I guess it's a bit difficult to realistically show different levels of water on either side of a glass plane, especially with corners...

I think it's because most glass pane fittings aren't watertight, so water most likely could still pass through it

It's because of the way Minecraft waterlogs blocks. The pane gets waterlogged and the water spills out to the other side

yeah they would have to change how waterlogged blocks work. it would be super cool if the could. it would make more sense for water to go the doors than windows.

its kinda realistic tho since all that water rushing down would probably destroy the windows irl, so this is the closest we've got

It would’ve been cooler if the water shattered the windows at a certain point, instead of just waterlogging and leaking through. Still really cool vid

Well, if he did do that, I bet we would be watching a man’s PC fucking combust into flames.

As cool as this is, I absolutely see why it’s not in the game, it would absolutely crash servers and clients if people did this or even on a bigger scale.

I remember captain sparklez doing a mod review on a mod called "Finite Water" long ago. I was obsessed with it. Really nice to see this being brought back.

If this wasn't such a nightmare for performance it'd actually make an interesting multiplayer server where people start out just fine and then floods begin and eventually people are fighting over what little land is left or making barges and boats like Waterworld.

Probably wouldn't be too hard if implemented like the floor is lava where every so often the water level goes up.

The only thing I'd like to change in this mod is that if there is a large body of moving water, it should move much faster and not take hours to fully flood a lower area. For example, they could move large cuboid areas (4x4 maybe) at once which would be better for performance and speed (realism).

i love how when the camera goes underwater the beat syncs so perfectly

Perfect music to go along with a village of people just casually being flooded out of their homes.

If the water is gonna go through the glass, just maybe break it as a cheap way to get around this problem? I don’t believe that the water have enough pressure to realistically break the glass, but it’s at least better than phasing right through it.

Honestly the water would definitely have enough pressure to break the glass. Maybe not instantly but yeah it would break the glass in a few minutes, probably even less time since water keeps piling up.

I think it just does that because glass panes aren’t full blocks, and are possibly also able to be waterlogged.

Yep this is minecraft alright, somewhat calming music whilst a chaotic disaster is happening *the villagers will not forget what they have suffered*

Mojang when they add tsunamis be like:

It is so funny that even though a mini tsunami came and swallow the village, the villager still have a normal humble town meeting XD

I know people would riot if you put that into Minecraft as we know it, but if there's ever a "Minecraft 2" or something completely different water physics would be a great way to differenciate the two. Imagine the possibilities!

This build is very beautiful. Original and the presentation is very satisfying. MOST IMPORTANTLY IS THAT THE WATER FILLS TO THE BEAT 10/10

This feels like the sort of thing I used to watch when I was 8, back in 2012, when I'd only just found out about minecraft... you just made me really nostalgic lol.

Did it also take a week and a half for the water to reach you? But seriously lmao it says realistic water but if you look in the back the sun sets like 10 times before it reaches the village.

This is very cool. You should ask the devs of the mod if possible to make more water go out when there is more water in a water tank of some sort, its basically pressure/air going out
