I loved the vita version , I was always stuck in pocket edition with limits . until the vita version came out I ran to the second hand store for a ps vita just for Minecraft

I've owned my modded Vita since my 17th Birthday on 2022, and I've loved it ever since, so I can play my childhood version of MC (PS3 edition gamer since 2014) anywhere I go! I do also emulate the legacy Switch edition on Steam Deck now, but there is just something about the portability of the Vita. That alongside Disgaea 4, Hatsune Miku Project DIVA f, and BlazBlue Chronophantasma are some of my favorite Vita games. I even made a buying guide on the Vita a little while ago, that's how much I like it! Good job on the video, you earned a loyal subscriber!

Thanks for the comment! I got my Vita for basically the same reason it seems you did, mostly for some nostalgic legacy console minecraft on the go, but also partially for other games and homebrews. Funny thing about the PS3 Edition, I actually just got my childhood PS3 back up and running today, even got it running cfw. Playing split screen minecraft on the PS3 again is truly a magical feeling.

The PS Vita is the primary way that I play Minecraft to this day, in fact I was playing it just before watching this video. Oh how I love you PS Vita 🥺 Amazing video btw, got a sub from me! ❤️

The PsVita was my first console, I was 7 years old at the time, I got it for Christmas along with Minecraft and played daily, it still works now which is great but I also recently found out my parents were really tight on money back then and had to save up a lot for it and that just makes it all the more dear to me now

i love this game on the ps vita. i still play it now. id play online but nobody i know has a vita so teaming up just isnt gonna happen.

Just imagine if we had the same amount of optimization on Minecraft Java and Bedrock

I remember a glitch where I made infinite zombies with villagers because it had a strange mob limit for zombies And I made a huge tomb of them and 1 zombie broke and wouldn't attack me and I made him and 2 others named after the 3 minions :/

Psvita legcy edition was my first minecraft game i bought it. i have platinum every trophy on the psvita it came with a redem code for the ps3 legend's version what is cool because you can transfer your save world progress. i also have minecraft ps3 legcy edition and ps4 edition what i have also got ever trophy on the ps4. And i have the Nintendo switch Bedrock version aswell. all because of the psvita version i love the game minecraft❤

lol, i always remap my crouch and change perspective to the dpad. I played the 360 version a lot when it was still getting updates. i must be old 😅

I bought an OLED 1000 model on OfferUp for $100 and it’s in great condition and it’s just fun playing the legacy edition on the go. Something that did upset me was that you can’t transfer ps3 maps anymore to vita

Yeah it's unfortunate that you can't transfer worlds anymore. I would've loved to put some Vita worlds onto my ps3 but I guess I got the Vita too late for that. Other than that it's a great experience though.

I totally agree. I didn't realize how great minecraft on the Vita was until I got mine. Definitely the best activity for curing boredom on the go.

I noticed that even though the Ps Vita edition is 1.13 it still has the updated textures of 1.14

This is because I was using minecraft enhanced for most of the recorded footage. The Vita Edition normally does not have the updated textures.

I've been wanting a way to play leagacy console portabily, I had access to the switch edition temporality and it was awesome but it didn't last long. This defedently seems like really the best solution over all for me. I know the vita can do a few other cool things like it has some andriod game ports. Still trying to decide if i should get one though because im not exactly sure.

I definitely dont regret getting mine. It may not be a very powerful console, but the fact that it fits into your pocket more than makes up for it. Once jailbroken, theres also alot of homebrew stuff too. If you're still undecided, just do some research into what's available for the Vita, and that might help you make your final decision. My only problem is I have slightly bigger hands for the vita so I need the case that makes the grip size bigger which I haven't been able to purchase since getting my vita mostly because I kinda forget to buy it but other than that I love my vita.

Other than minecraft, I'd say LBP Vita is a good tech demo like game for using the touchscreen and back TouchPad. Other than that, it really depends on what type of games you like to play.

if you want a unique vita game i recommend freedom wars. its a shame you got into it so late, there were a lot of good games like killzone mercenary for example that are no longer playable online. i guess the campaign is still good though kind of

I've had a 3DS for a while and I'm planning to get one now, but I'm not sure if I should get a Vita instead? I have had a 3DS for ~6 years and modded for ~3 years and I know all there is about 3DS and a bunch of games that I know I like so maybe it's worth it over the Vita? If anything I might get a 3DS before a Vita. The Minecraft 3DS Edition is terrible but I generally prefer Java anyways due to Multiplayer

Both the 3DS and the Vita are great consoles. I'd go with whatever one you prefer, as long you're having fun.

Does modded vita still support PSN and trophy hunting/synch? That overclocking abiliti looks really tempting.

Yes, you can still connect to PSN and get trophies. As long as youre not cheating trophies, you're also not likely to be banned.

The Andriod/iOS bedrock is definitely the easier way of minecraft in your pocket. The Vita Edition is just the best way of getting Legacy Console Edition minecraft in your pocket.

There was a pretty rare switch edition Of Minecraft Legacy which Was only available for one year where there was no cartridge where it stuck on 1.12 which is the same version Xbox one is stuck on

I find it only starts to get laggy if you built lots of stuff or have many entities spawned. Usually it's fine for a single player world, but it can get annoying when playing with others.

Honestly I find keyboard/controller controls just as easy as each other. Touchscreen controls on mobile is definitely not as easy though. Juts my opinion.

I still personally prefer Bedrock/Pocket Edition on a phone for my portable and personal Minecraft experience. I do have Minecraft on the Xbox 360 to easily play split screen with friends and family.

You need two different regions of the game. My enhanced is the US version and vanilla is EU version.

All the texture packs I used are included in Minecraft Enhanced. I forgot exactly what each texture pack is called but one is the default Minecraft Enhanced textures, and the other is the new vanilla textures.

my first minecraft experience was on the xbox 360 and later ps4 (it had lce and if you too have the disc you can still play it) the ps4 ran it much faster and had 4096 by 4096 worlds and 1.14 now i have an modded 360 and the legacy disc on ps4

I've used Yuzu to play the switch version on my phone. Still doesn't run overly great and the controls are awkward, but it works.

I still find all versions enjoyable in one way or another, but the primary 2 versions I play now are Legacy Console and Java Edition. Java for mods, Legacy for minigames.

You're right. In North America, it was only a download code. I have a Japanese copy though, and in Japan, it was on a physical cartridge like any other Vita game. I have no idea why this is.

@@maverickhuntermeta4954 The language will almost always be whatever language the Vita was set to upon its first time setup. If you set it to English, it will be in English even in Japanese games. I'm not sure if this goes for games exclusively released in Japan though.

The biggest downside to PS Vita minecraft is that, if you make a save file on there, then its on there forever. (Of course you can make backup and transfer it to pc, etc). But unlike PS3 version (which you can backup and convert to Java/Bedrock using third party software on PC) There is no way to play that PS Vita world on any other minecraft editions or version. The same goes for New3DS version.

You used to be able to transfer ps Vita worlds to ps3, so if you can convert ps3 worlds to other versions then I guess that would maybe work. Although they stopper the transfer services for legacy edition minecraft a while ago now.

If you have large pockets, then yeah I guess so. The thing about the switch is that it's a lot larger than a Vita. Even a switch lite is awkward in your pocket, although it does fit for the most part. The switch version is also one update behind the Vita version. A good choice if you already have a switch.

@@maverickhuntermeta4954 The legacy switch edition is one major update behind Vita Edition. Minecraft on Vita got to update Aquatic but the Switch got bedrock instead at that time, making it so the legacy switch version never got update aquatic.

I play minecraft ps vita everyday

ad-hoc connection is just lan, you can essentially do that with any console too

the legacy console edition was so much better than bedrock edition and while for me too the ps3 edition was my first minecraft experience i dont think you could say its better than java java is objectively the best minecraft mostly because its on pc you can mod add shaders add more content entirely change the game into a different genre if you want and you have mouse keyboard and controller support with basically no limit you can play it on a desktop on a laptop and like you said steam deck and other handheld pcs its the most versatile free and amazing version of minecraft

I 100% agree with this. Legacy console isn't the best version of minecraft, it's just the best version released on consoles.

Ever since I used the Vita, I always set the hotbar to the dpad. It's just the superior controls Dare I say better than KB+M

I still prefer using the bumpers for the hotbar, but every time I go to play any other version of minecraft with a controller after playing on the Vita, I constantly find myself trying to use the dpad lol.

My Vita shown in the video is also from Japan. It's a little weird having the X and O buttons swapped on menus but it's easy to get used to. Onw of the quirks of a Japanese model I guess. And yeah, I could change that since it's modded, but I chose not to.

i think the multi-colored versions were only in japan ? i really like the light pink version its cute c: i tried to play telltale walking dead it works fine but sometimes it lags in QTEs honestly minecraft on vita is really good solid experience maybe even better than switch. i also got game card of metal gear solid hd collection and dragon quest heroes 2 for it :D @@flaming62

It can be, depending on the map, and general reaction time. I'd like to say I'm good at it, and I can usually win in a glide lobby, but then I see people speedrunning glide. Those speedrunners are a different breed of skill lol.

@@Davidcat_studio oh yeah, that's definitely the hardest part about glide on Vita. Also the small Joysticks make it a little harder to make small adjustments. Other than that it's not that bad though.

If you really want one then sure. There's alot of good games for the Vita other than just minecraft, but you have to keep in mind that it's also a somewhat old console now and isn't very powerful. If you decide to buy one, check your local Facebook marketplace before looking on Ebay. You might find a better deal on Marketplace if there's any Vitas for sale near you.

Yeah it may be ridiculous now in 2024, but just ridiculous enough for me to do it anyways I guess lol. As for roblox, back when the Vita released it would've been able to run roblox just fine, but as the game has been updated it gets harder for older devices to run. For example, if you tried to run roblox on a phone or tablet from roughly the same time period, it likely wouldn't run, or would struggle to get above 5-10fps. Just because the Vita can't run modern games doesn't make it a bad console though, as there are many classics that are still fun to play to this day.

There’s Pocket Edition and Bedrock on switch. The switch still plays better than a Vita too. Seriously, why would you play an outdated version of Minecraft?

There's nothing particularly wrong with Bedrock Edition as a whole in my opinion, I just prefer the legacy console edition experience. And while the switch does play better than a Vita for the most part, i can't put a switch in my pocket.

I never played legacy console edition until recently, but if I were to choose between it and Bedrock, I'd go for it just because the design and feel of new bedrock is horrible for me, the only bedrock versions I can enjoy are 1.14 and below. Windows 10 Edition and Pocket Edition are also notable imo.
