They spend a year on adding one or two mobs with barely any functionality, whilst there’d mod developers which do stuff that radically changes the game for the better in the same time or less. Mojang is just too afraid to rock the boat and do anything actually new, because as it is now, the game is still bring in swathes of cash. Why innovate when stagnancy is more profitable?

I didnt actually know that this can be installed DIRECTLY WITH IRIS. That is such a nice quality of life feature and really makes it much less of a mod and more of just the standard in the future from what I'm seeing. I ALWAYS download iris and ALWAYS download shaders with every Minecraft update. Now I just have the option to install distant horizons with one button press and that's that? Absolutely phenomenal.

By far the best and simplest DH and shader install guide I've found. Thank you!!

Man when I got this to work and loaded in the shaders. It truly is one of those experiences where you just sit back and just take in the view. It is crazy how such a simple and old game to this day can be just such wonder and joy.

When I cranked distance to 300+ it happily ate 55GB+ for the thumbnail screenshot. That was with fancy resource packs and stuff 0.o

i normally use nvidium but this is pretty cool to work with shaders. kind of hope the iris devs also try to work with nvidium because the way nvidium does far render distances is so much better.

you can get the tectonic mod with this and it makes it look insanely awesome, you can also get some others but those are just overwhelming and makes it look to packed for the smaller details to show up, tectonic has more open spaces meaning you can see more awesome things.

I updated and made sure I have Java but when I download the Iris Shaders file it doesn't open that window and won't run. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

ReplayMod is not compatible with Iris 1.7 beta.

How come I can't check the box when I'm installing iris where it says "Use Distant Horizons beta version (not recommended) EDIT: I got it to work by just installing them manually each time into the mods folder. And might I just say... WOW THIS MOD IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

@@sheesh_lord5795 Install each mod by themselves and put each of them into the mods folder in .minecraft. (ie. sodium, indium, iris, fabric api, distant horizons, c2me, lithosphere, noisium.)

I get a really weird glitch whenever I apply the Bliss shader where the ground gets drawn on the sky. I've downloaded from the link in your description as well as the one in the Iris discord server, but neither work. I've looked everywhere but have yet to find a solution. Do you know what this could be?

It would be a strong contender if it supported shaders, maybe after DH is finished its development with Iris they might move onto nvidium and Vulken mod.

I just install distant horizon but for some reason, I still only got the default render distance even my Distant Horizon is properly installed. I tried to explore the world yet the edge of the map still went missing as usual just like the default render distance. Anyone know the issue?

Every time I check the mods folder, both IRIS and Sodium are still in RAR files. Do I need to do something else?

can you just dl the mods and drag them over to a curseforge profile? or is there more back end to it that requires the installer?

very cool. What do I need when I want to run a JAVA server on a computer in my local network with this? Does the server also need to be fabric? Do I need to put in all the mods from the client into the server mod folder? Edit: so everything works like a charm but at this moment the installer comes with in MC version 1.20.4 and so has to be the server.jar - a very plain installation works for me, my kids can play now on our local dedicated server with DH and shaders on. One thing I'm not sure about is wether the full view distance works on the server, I put 512 as view distance in the server-properties file but I'm not sure if this is having an effect. View distance looks much further in single player, so I assume the server only does allow only 32? Is there a way to bypass this?

I have a rayzen 9 5900x with which I would hope to be able to use the cpu setting aggressively, however when doing this the game freezes and closes. I am using the beta version for minecraft 1.20.4. Does it have to do with this or simply my cpu cannot handle this?

I was like this :O when I saw how much RAM you have. When I was a kid in the early 2000s, a 4GB of RAM was NASA level gaming computer. When I bought my first PS2 memory card my mom was like "DAMN! 4 whole megabytes? what do you need that for?" and she was having the same little epiphany back in like 2004 that I am now lmao Thanks for the tutorial man btw, very helpful.

How do you get the overlap to be smoother?

i have this weird bug thing where any blocks that are about 7-10 blocks away have this weird grid linew around them and it fades away as i walk towards them. not sure if this is a DH problem.

For a huge performance boost: FYI dont use the normal Java that comes with the louncher. I my case it used Java 8 which has waaaay less performance than Java JDK 17. Just install that and set your louncher to java 17. You can do that in the same menu as the ram. After installing go to the menu and click on browse: then navigate to programmfiles/java/jdk-17/bin and select the java.exe Thank me later

@@EmmanuelB minecraft can't even run on java 8 anymore its impossible, the launcher automatically installs the compatible java so you were already on java 17

my render doesn't go that far even when I have distant horizon on can I get a suggestion

Looks great! Does anyone know how this mod affects flying with an Elytra for example? I’m worried having to load so many chunks it will tank performance.

When I turn it off I get a big red writing saying java rendering is disablred or something like that and the when I turn it back on DIstant Horizions breaks and makes the further blocks all weird... any tips to fix it? I followed every step of the video. I'm on the latest version of fabric 1.20.6

I have my mods and distant horizons installed through cursed forge and I went to add iris and bliss shaders on top of that outside of curse forge and it doesn't work. The iris and bliss shaders get ignored.

On my iris installer the DH option is there but it is not enabled. GPU incompatible? GTX 1050

If Fabric Loader doesn't show up in the Minecraft launcher, make sure to manually create the "mods" inside the ".minecraft" folder.

When I turn on the shader I can barely see even the standard 12 chunks because there is fog on the borders and I cant turn it off in the shader settings

For me it works when turning off the setting "Per Biome Environments" in Fog settings in the Bliss shaders settings. It works even with this on, but I am guessing you spawned in a jungle or similar.

I can't seem to get this working even on lowest settings. Whenever i try there is weird visual bugs, ghosting, and blobby rendering. I'm running an AMD Ryzen 9 5980HX, Radeon RX 6800M and 16gb of ram. The game runs fine without the mod, but gets all choppy and stuttery and buggy when i try to use it. everyone else makes it seem so seamless but i can't get it working. I've even dropped Minecraft's graphics settings to the minimum with no substantial difference

I get the “Shader pack doesn’t have DH support” red message when I load in and the chunks are only visible at default range with a whole lot of java script messages covering my screen

To anyone not getting the fabric loader option in the minecraft launcher, make sure you are running the iris installer with your Minecraft launcher closed!

I followed all of these steps and around 1/4 of the blocks in DH chunks are pink when there are no pink blocks at all in that chunk. Does anyone know why they are pink and how to fix it?

I followed all of the steps and for me, looks like just the chuncks around spawm load and when I go to load new ones and explore, its like im playing skyblock and the chuncks dissapear behind me.

How can I combine this with replay mod? It is just a mess when I enter the replay
