I mean, the fun thing about the "fewest" type categories is that no matter how *long* it takes, so long as you perform or receive fewer of the named thing, you're still "ahead." So, doing it with 4 advancements versus 5 is always an improvement. Neat!

It has been a speedrun title for a while now.

I appreciate you actually putting out a video I can watch. I'm not watching any TOTK stuff until I at least beat ganon, and the rest of the game is usually to interesting to do the main story

I love how both Rhododo and Smallant thought of this at the same time and handled it completely differently.

After watching Banana & Bread do this, you were the one creator I was hoping would attempt it for yourself, glad to see it happened!

I so agree I've been subbed to them for a while and totally agree that they are underrated

I just absolutely love the idea that achievements are just handed out like trash candy to the point where the challenge is to beat the game with the least amount of achievements.

Man this was an idea I had months ago but was too overwhelmed to start, then he goes ahead and does it with only 4! Kudos man 👏🏽

I've always thought a really fun challenge would be to try and get as many advancements all at once, in a row, as possible. Like, the longest chain with only n seconds between getting the next advancement. It's like a minimum advancement run, but with extra interesting routing to what advancements you want to proc early to give access to more advancements to do during the chain It's also fun as a concept because you get to see how the ingame chat gets completely spammed with the advancement get messages - very funny to imagine doing it on a server

@@derpyslurp8779 More than likely that would be from the "obtain x item" type ones, managing to put them all into a single chest before hand and pulling them all into your inventory at once. If you timed it perfectly, you could probably also combine it with the end or nether ones by entering them the instant you took everything from the chest.

Low% categories:

I love minimum captures in SMO, it's propably my favourite category to watch and I sadly haven't watched it in ages, it's been so long. This totally reminds me of that!

My favorite part was the reference to 0.5 A press watch for rolling rocks. Had me smiling when you explained how you crafted the blaze rods!

397 minutes into less than 10. Wow, I do not envy the editing that challenge run KZreadrs have to do.

Taking inventory was actually extremely easy to avoid, since you didn't get it from opening chests or crafting tables etc, just from opening your inventory by pressing e.

omg the dire dire docks music while explaining the crafting just threw me back to parallel universes

probably the 2 main things I didn't know before watching this is the crafting trick, and that you can use waterlogged mangrove roots or whatever they are called to 1 cycle the dragon

I believe the same thing could be done with leaves, but since that requires shears or silk touch, he went for the roots as theyre the only block that he can obtain that are resistant to explosions without giving an advancement. Other ones are obviously obsidian, ancient debris, and crying obsidian.

Good luck, just keep playing. You fill find many things can be used for things they weren't made to do. Like boats, water buckets, fishing rods.

Your voiceover voice sounds so different compared to your streaming voice. Like a burly, full-bearded dad, telling stories to his kids. It sounded very prepared, polished, and professional. I think it's the additional texture in the lower frequencies, and the intonation that does it. Also, nice run! Didn't think that few would be possible.

1:11 it's possible to generate a 12 eye portal on a random seed but it's really rare you could win on a lottery 50 times in a row before that happening

You growing wings in the next 12 seconds and taking off into flight is impossible, for example, because that is not capable of happening under any circumstances. Statisticlets need to stop changing the definitions of words. Unlikely and impossible are not synonyms. Just because you personally give up on something and say "this is impossible" doesn't mean it literally is. Colloquial usage of a word has no value to reality.

You could technically find a 12 eye seed but it would incomprehensibly long for that to happen, the KZreadr would either die or have their computer stop working before they would actually find it. So it’s humanly impossible.

This is bringing me back to the minimum captures days

I love that SM64 File Select has become the go to for providing explanation for glitches.

Now, it could be a stretch but there are contraptions involving sand and boats to load chunks through a portal, if you could somehow create a portal frame and have an enderman place a wooden plank next to it, then allow fire to spread to it, technically speaking you could avoid the lighting portal advancement. And if that portal happened to generate right next to a blaze spawner you could use named mobs through the portal to temporarily load the chunks then having a blaze exit through the portal avoiding the nether entirely. Same goes for the end of you complete an end portal and launch named mobs with tnt you could theoretically also beat the dragon without ever even entering the end. Just a thought, in practice I could only see this happening on a set seed with LOTS of time, but it’d be a cool thing to see.

Hmm... I wonder if something like this is possible, but with minimum recipes in the Recipe Book as well. It uses the same system that advancements use, and are technically advancements.

​@@HidekiShinichi /advancement give everything unlocks every crafting recipe and advancement. So in the games code, they function the same and are classified as them. This means low% could probably include them, maybe as a tiebreaker before time.

I really hope this is a Speedrun run category cause it would be interesting to see Speedrunners try this

I'm a big fan of Low% or whatever the name is for these types of runs. They always force creativity to avoid aspects of the game and not having time be part of the run means that any new strat to avoid something is the meta, no matter how long it takes to do.

The absolute dedication to avoiding these things is crazy

My biggest stain on my life is I’ve never defeated the ended dragon on survival

@@felix_andrade that technique you mentioned only makes it so you don't lose extra hunger for sprinting. You still lose some from jumping and breaking blocks (and probably some other actions too). Thus in a run this long I doubt it would help much.

Combine this with a don't take damage challenge and you'll be the Mr. Beast of minecraft videos

5:10 can u not avoid the flint and steel advancement? I remember seeing people place a wood block next to the nether portal and lighting it on fire using lava in Skyblock. And if that doesn't work u can technically find a trident then find a channelling book and wait for a thunderstorm to hit a creeper next to the portal forcing a lightning strike to ignite it

If you'd like an even more painful way to get ender pearls, theres the llama method. Go to the overworld and locate a llama. Set up a way yo trap ender men, and punch the llama so it'll spit at you. Then painstakingly wait for the llama to spit the endermen to death.

5:10 by using fiire from lava and a wooden block(the skyblock method) you can theoretically light it without getting the we need to go deeper achievement

The actual requirement is to just enter the Nether, so you get the achievement regardless of how the portal is lit up
