The "ShorT" Shop should have the ceiling low so customers have to crouch to get in and walk around. That would be hilarious! And they would buy extra because they wouldn't want to go back too soon! The perfect mix of "make them stay longer so they end up buying more" and "don't have to stock up every day due to selling out".

This has surely been said before. But at the edge of the forest you should have a more shrubbery and smaller trees. The reason you have the bare trunks and lack of foliage in the middle of the forest is because of the lack of light. The edge of the forest however doesn’t have as much competition for light and so the new growth is more chaotic

I think it would be cool if you hooked up the chimneys of the super smelter so that while it‘s running and smelting things, smoke comes out of them, and when it‘s done smelting, the smoke either clears up or is just puffs, kind of like with your mailbox. That way you’d be able to let it smelt on it’s own and go away and then know when it’s done. Amazing episode!

You can make comparators read minecarts if theyre on a detector rail, but then as theye on a dector rail not a powered rail, you need to have the detector rail at an angle so the cart can move when you detect the amount you want inside. So you then have to use a piston or fence gate to block the minecart from moving off while refilling on the slanted angle, which then open/retract once the minecart is full enough.

I'm sure someone else has said it, but you can actually detect how full a chest minecart is with a comparator. You just need to have the minecart on a Detector Rail. Now you know! :)

Started watching bdubs as a kid back in 2013. Back when my only worry was if I got caught staying up late watching bdubs. Been awhile since Ive watched his videos ill admit. Ive finished school. Begun my career, and found my SO. Alot of responsibilities and problems to juggle and figure out as a young adult. I'm glad I started watching him again. His editing has become masterful and still have the same charm I remember growing up. I love to see the man I admired as a child still creating amazing builds and funny videos. I've missed ya Bdubs

Love the super smelter, Bdubs! Another idea for tying in the silos to the smeltery: you could have a couple of chutes running from the silos to the smelter. In those old English farmsteads, they often had a crude wall going around the barn, home, chicken pen, bull pen, etc. leading out to an apple orchard/grazing grounds. Excited to see where you go with it next! Keep up the great work, love seeing your vision come together!

A detector rail sends a different signal strength when your hopper has items in it. Which can be used to stop your minecart when it is emptied. You can increase your pickup time by having your double chest inline with your rails.

I think the most efficient fuel is lava buckets. Impulse has loads of spare from his smelter and has a drip stone/ cauldron farming endless lava so he doesn’t run out of fuel. You can have a small lava farm like that behind your furnaces and link it up probably!

18:17 comparator read rail below minecart, not minecart itself Bdubs. I'm sure you know this though on account of your redstone being flawlessly perfect and just forgot momentarily. We all have off days; even us super-geniuses.

hey bdubs, with the hopper minecart not collecting enough, you could also turn the chest 90 degrees, so both blocks the chest is on are on top of a rail. this would mean the hopper can collect some materials while in motion therefor the delay could be shorter. hope this makes sense.

  • @defeatSpace

The solution is an upward detector rail with a fence gate directly above the final powered-rail adjacent to the detector, compare the detector and open the gate once the cart is full enough. The temporary rail prevents the other from updating back to flat while placing the rest, and subtracting a barrel of target number from the main comparator will compact the redstone circuit. Careful not to place or destroy any other rails touching the diagonal rail after replacing the temporary rail with a block, and subtraction is the barrel signal running into the side of the detector. Pffft, who am I kidding? Bdubs' redstone testin me!

Hi Bdubs, if you like interactive builds why not include a charcoal kiln at your base and you can use the charcoal for fuel? 1 log = 1 charcoal which will smelt 8 items. You can use the slabs to smelt the logs so you are continuously creating fuel. I think the look of a kiln site would look pretty cool near a forested area.
